Ballades: For Piano (Fryderyk Chopin Complete Works) Paperback – 1 Jan. 2013

i've always been looking for this edition of the ballades. the book was in fantastic condition practically new with not a single marking.

needless to say the music is perhaps the pinnacle of chopin's works, and to some even all romantic piano music... for Chopin you cannot go wrong with Paderewski editions and thus everything contained within the book is top notch, from the fingering suggestions to the notes and comments and is surely closest to what Chopin would've intended. the book physically is decently put together however I much prefer Henle for the binding and general quality - this book (as with all Paderewski books in general) can be rather reluctant to stay open on the right pages without driving a tank over them, I never have this problem with my Henle edition. however, the closest to Chopin is Paderewski, so go for this edition. 4 stars as the book I feel could be better quality physically for the price

I really like this edition of the Ballades however some of the music could be slightly more spaced out as it can be quite difficult to read sometimes.

Antes las ediciones paredewsky tenian una portada de papel algodón de muy buena calidad, y las hojas del interior eran color mate. Ahora son de color blanco y son algo brillantes, aunque también parece que son más resistentes. El contenido sigue siendo excepcional, pero los materiales me decepcionaron un poco. Parecen de una edición barata (hasta fotocopiada).

I absolutely adore the Chopin Ballades and wanted an edition to top of my collection of sorts.I currently have the Alfred Masterwork, Henle, and National Edition if the Ballades. I keep them on me almost all the time and they hold a special place in my heart.My teacher highly suggested this edition for performance and I would agree as this was an easy book to practice out of. The notes are clear and the spacing leaves plenty of room for notes.Highly suggest this as I found the other editions somewhat problematic (Alfred had some unfortunate typos and the Henle, while precise and helpfuly with notes, could not stay open for more than a minute. The Paderewski just open so naturally that I always want to keep this with me)Recommended!

Beautiful, perfect book. Nice plastic coating on cover so I don't have to use clear contact paper as I do with my Henle books. I love the Paderewski editions the best; he had the best fingering and I'm given to understand that Paderewski is the most reliable for Chopin. Sturdy binding, high quality printing.

Buena edición, todo correcto
