Caltric Starter Compatible with Kohler Courage Twin Sv730 Sv735 Sv740 Sv810 Sv 730 735 740 810

Installed on a Cub Cadet SLT1550 with Kohler SV730. Cranks much better than before. I found out after ordering that Kohler had two subsequent generations of upgraded starters, and this is a copy of the earliest generation. (There's a good YouTube video on the subject.) Knowing that, I would have bought the most recent version that has 9 teeth (rather than 10) and more torque with less power draw. Nevertheless, this one works well and was priced reasonably. I will update if it fails prematurely.

So far so Good. I've only used it 3 times since I put Starter on. It's working Good though when starting Mower, Mower starts Faster now since I put New Starter on. We will see how it does with Summer coming up. Will be using it weekly then, Hopefully it stays strong.

The starter installed in only a few minutes. It appears to have double the torque compared to the old Gen 1 starter. Only the first day but I would recommend buying this product.

Great starter. Works better than original at 1/4 to at least 1/2 the price. The original always seemed as if the battery was low on charge even when fully charged. It would crank slow and after a couple of tries would start up (when new). The original went out and needed a new one. Cub Cadet wanted 4 1/2 times as much in price and other reviews on this one stated the same thing I have about weak starting. The new Caltric starter started the mower immediately without hesitation. It is like the original starters are for much smaller engines. I know of others with Cub cadet mowers and theirs are the same way. Looks the same and feels the same weight. Doesn't seem better or cheaper made. Don't know why it works better, but it does. Do what I did...Look up your mower and see what the factory replacement is. If this one (or another Caltric starter) matches the number, then go for it.

This starter fit my Kholer/Craftsman tractor just fine. I took the old one out because it dragged when it got hot. After installing the new one, I started it 2 or 3 times and thought-perfect. The next day I went out and got nothing but click. the battery is new, the solenoid is good, the cables show good. The seat and clutch safety are good- so I turned the key and had someone rap it with a hammer a few times and it started once. Then no matter what you did it was just done. I put my old one back in and so far, so good.Of course the time I bought it (winter) and the time I installed it (spring) the warrantee had gone by so I guess I'll drop it off at a rebuilder a couple towns away and try it again some time (before the original totally dies). I guess you take your chances. Good luck.
