DEEP SOUTH HIGH HUMIDITY WARRIOR
Does the job. No noisier than any other air conditioner that sits in your living room 5 ft from your head. Is it super quiet no. Is it super loud no . Is it loud yes it reminds me of my old dishwasher. I'm sensitive to high sounds high pitch sounds. As long as it doesn't have any of those it doesn't bother me. The reason I'm sticking with Frigidaire is I had a six year old 15,000 BTU Frigidaire window AC unit never did any maintenance on it except clean the little filter screen to the front. Left it in the window all year long for the past 6 years. I was ignorant and I didn't know you were supposed to do anything to it. It kept working, I kept using it. Had a crappy tenant with multiple pets stay in there for about 8 months didn't even clean the filter screen and yet it was still hanging in there still reaching 60° in a matter of minutes for that particular room it was in. Had to take it apart wash all the mold out that he caused and 6 years worth of vegetative matter that got in through the slots, pine needles that kind of thing. The drain hole was clogged up. It came as a sleeve unit so there was no way to just take the bottom thing off and wash that off and it weighed over a hundred pounds, that's the bad side of a sleeve so it survived despite that extreme amount of neglect on my part. It did not survive us taking the back off cleaning it out and doing everything else to it. Waited 36 hours turned it back on. Worked immediately reached cold immediately but now the fan has this grating noise to it that I can't live with so I'm giving it to the handyman he can fix it and keep it. I got one of the 12000 BTU and put it in the same space that the other 15,000 was in. I just ordered a 12000 BTU because it's more appropriate sized for this small cottage. It sits in full sun all day long Non-Stop no trees relative to underground plumbing and wiring. Originally a concrete foundation shed that was converted from a 24 x14 to a cottage complete with open cell foam insulation drywalling , real bathroom in a separate room . SeparateCloset . Separate storage area main area has stackable washing machine dryer that vents outside properly, 18 cubic foot refrigerator, an air fryer ,coffee pot, electric tea kettle , two giant overhead ceiling fans, electric frying pan and microwave....All exhaling heat and humidity into the same space thats under 500 ft. Would I have done the space differently knowing now what I didn't know then , absolutely. Open plan would have been hugely better and much more energy efficient and one air conditioning unit would have done it. A separate space for the washing machine and dryer where the storage room is. When all these things are in the same area the humidity climbs back fast so this AC unit run in dry mode and eco absolutely works to maintain your temperature and can rapidly lower the humidity and does a great job of it. And if it would just cut itself off right there after the compressor stops I'd be sitting in high cotton. Unfortunately all the window air conditioners once they reach the set temperature and the compressor cycles off THE FAN continues to blow for the next 2-3 minutes ,sitting right next to a humidity reader. I've got like five of them in the room spaced out in different areas to make sure they're averaging about the same throughout the room and they do you're better off to turn the air conditioner off immediately and not let it run in eco mode if you're there. Since I never used to have a reader for humidity it's probably ignorance is bliss kind of thing, but it does go back up by about four points in humidity immediately on all of them when the compressor kicks off and it continues to run on eco for those few minutes while it blows the fan only. I listed all those extreme conditions so you can see it could do the job, it's doing the job with all this stuff in one room it can certainly cool your living room or bedroom down. I have another one of the exact same one that I purchased last month it's in the kitchen window I'll run the one in the bedroom just at night time and then the one in the kitchen during the daytime I do not need both of them at the same time and they act as a backup for each other if anything ever happens. Power consumptions not horrible in eco mode, but we're far from summer so only time will tell.

Its a workhorse excellent life span!
This model is a workhorse.I have a nice whole house ac unit but the wife and I like it very cool in the BR when we sleep so I installed this unit in the bedroom window instead of freezing the entire house all night for nothing. Saved alot of $$$ on the ac bill.First one lasted about 5 years second one still running,Here's the secret to a long and healthy life with this or any other window banger ac unit. Keep the condenser coil and filter clean. Get a pair of cutters and cut out the entire filter grill exposing the condenser fins so you can vac the fins out regularly with a hand vac. It does not look bad because when the filter is in its white. make sure the fins are dry before vac'ing them. Clean the filter every other day.I bought a second filter so i rotate them. Every other day clean filter. The other thing is hang a plastic lanai curtain over the outside of the unit to block the sun from hitting it. Hang it from the soffet. Don't block the airflow out of the unit but make it low enough to just block the sun from hitting it. try to keep direct sunlight off it. Really helps its life span not sitting in the sun all day. Its a different brutal sun now.

Purchased a second unit, because I like the first, I bought last year.
This is my second purchase of this model air conditioner for another room. The cooling was really good for a bedroom. Air quality is crisp, especially on humid days. The build quality was very good with no dents or loose parts. Installation was pretty easy and being only about 35lbs weight, it was easy to pick up. Like some of the other reviews. some of the fins on the back were bent, but you could easily bend them back straight. The noise was ok and expected for a windows ac unit. What I don't like is that when you shut off the AC, it defaults back to its original settings. An autosave of your last set temperature before shutting off would have made the AC better. It's weird how autosave isn't a feature even though it's so simple. The default temperature is 72 Fahrenheit, but I usually have my AC at 78 Fahrenheit. I know this sound high, but I'm used to it.Overall, it's a good Air conditioner and this is my second purchase.

Life saver!
Orlando FL middle of summer AC broke. Waiting for a full replacement but it was unbearable. Easy to set up if you’re a bit smart and can watch a DIY YouTube video. Need 2 people to do it for a proper install. It can be a kid helping. Look at my temp reads for the ac vents in home compared to the ac vents in this window unit. I just started it up use a bit of cardboard to fill up some tiny crevices for now. Will remove when AC is completely installed which will be in a few days but in the meantime in between time, this lil gem should keep my bedroom temperature down. Check the pics if you don’t believe me. Quiet enough as well. Fit decent with a little hack here and there. You can screw it to the window frame with brackets and all but this is a temp solution well worth the $150 for a few days it was this or a hotel but I got to work so I’m saving my self money and will store it someplace safe until I need it again. I will also run it on every now and then to ensure the parts don’t get damaged.

Cold and quiet
The only issue I have with all window unit air conditioners is the accordion style sections that are supposed to keep out air. With technology today why can't they come up with something better than this? Yes you can put weather stripping, yes you can put weather stripping tape, yes you can put trash bags it seems like there should be a better solution to keep air, water and bugs out. The air conditioner itself is quiet on low air and is very cold. On high setting it pumps out the cold air that is a little louder than preferable at night. I put it on high setting to cool off my room then switch it down to low cool when I get ready for bed. I still have the ceiling fan on low and usually an extra small fan pointed right at my bed. I put this in a bedroom so I could have my bedroom frigid and the rest of the house at normal temperature. I sleep with a blanket now and love it. No longer do I wake up sweating or hot.
