Description

  • 🏠【No Residue】The principle of Essort window film self-adhesive is static cling, the window privacy film is glue-free, no chemical release, reusable, easy to install and remove, no residue after removal, just make sure the window surface is completely clean. Remember to use a very large mixture of soap and water to moisten both the adhesive side and the window. And the side glued by the film must be attached to the inside of your window.
  • 🏠【Thickened】The glass film anti-UV is made of PVC material, with a scratch-resistant layer on the surface, which is friction resistant, does not fade or blister. When there are bubbles during installation, you should spray a lot of water and use a card to gently scrape the bubbles to the edge until they disappear. Essort window films act as a "safety net" by holding together the crushed glass, which can prevent crushing broken pieces when you need to hit the glass.
  • 🏠【Better to Protect Privacy】The one-way window film offers great privacy only during the day and the outer glass shows the mirror effect so that you can not see inside from outside. When the outer light weakens, the mirror effect of the outer glass gradually disappears and outside people can see inside. When the internal light is stronger than the external light, the mirror effect will be reversed. Remember to draw a curtain at night.
  • 🏠【Thermal & Energy Saving Window Film】The one-way window film blocks 98% of uv rays, reducing the fading and aging of interior furniture. The thermal glass film can retain heat in winter and keep it out in summer by blocking up to 90% of infrared rays, reducing the costly heating and cooling costs.
  • 🏠【Easy to Clean】The electrostatic adsorption film may absorb a part of the powder layer in the air, but it is very easy to clean. It only needs to be wiped lightly with a rag or ordinary glass cleaning tools. It can also help your kitchen glass to keep clean in an oily environment.

Temporary success

The film cannot cope with strong sunlight. The description claims that it doesn’t fade, but the sun has bleached mine out almost completely- in both streaks and little circles. The tint (& therefore glare protection) is gone. I assume any UV protection must also be gone & I am told that the privacy provided by the mirror effect is also gone; I haven’t been able to check that for myself properly yet as it’s installed on angled 45 degree Velux loft windows which are difficult to look into from street level. However, there are plenty of surrounding neighbours high enough up that can now see straight through my windows. I was initially very happy with both the glare & privacy protection, but was soon disappointed as I lost both benefits as the sun bleached out the tint. Am wary to buy again, as I found it very difficult to install the wet film on angled windows & to cut to size (comes tightly rolled up, so hard to keep flat). (However, I must say that the film put on my vertical windows in a room that doesn’t get as much sun, is still intact and I’m very happy with it). The film just isn’t fit for the purpose for which I bought it- heat reduction, privacy & glare protection from strong sunlight. Nevertheless, I might have to consider re buying & going through the arduous application process every year, until I find a better solution.

Excellent product - if applied correctly. and has made a room usable again in the summer

Bought for my workroom in the garden that I use a computer in. Previously even with the paper blinds from IKEA plus a set of middling blackout curtains, had to work in the semi dark in summer to see the screen without reflections. Also heat build up between window and curtains meant room got very hot very quickly. Have fitted this film and instantly temperature in room lowered as most of the suns heat is reflected off. What i didn't expect was the total lack of glare now from the sun which means I'm not working in dark anymore but can have sun full on windows and no reflections in my display which is far more comfortable a working environment. Room still gets hot because its hot outside, but its much more bearable and temperature lower. Difference between inside and the outside (Surface of window) is bigger so when 40c outside its 27c in here when before it was 30 and I was sitting in the dark,Downsides? Its tricky to handlenand I got the best results when i took the windows off and applied film flat. You will probably never get a totally perfect mirror finish, but its prrety good if you apply it carefully. This is how I applied it:Cut the film to size. it cuts easily but you get best results with a long metal straight edge and a craft knifeThoroughly cleaned windows including the very edges with a window cleaner and polished drySoaked glass (It goes on the inside!) with a mixture of 10 parts water to 1 party washing up liquidFor my smaller windows I could peel the backing off (The clear sheet) and then lay the mirror side which the backing was protecting, directly on the water. Though the backing makes it curl up, when you've removed the backing, it stops curling and as its not got adhesive on it, you can handle it easily then. With the washing up liquid in it, the film floats on this water and you can roughly position it. If it sticks to the glass early then peel up carefully and slosh a bit more water under. Now for the important bit. You musnt stretch or crease the film but you have to use a squeedgee (A fabric covered one came with the film) to get all the water out from under it. Until ALL the water is removed, the film will not stick properly. Took me about ten minutes to do this bit for each window, working form the centre out and re going over bits. I had a wad of kitchen paper to blot up the excess water and found it relatively easy but had to watch out for the film sliding in to the wrong place.I had cut the film to the right size on all but one window and found trimming the excess on that one window hard as without being trimmed, there was no seal between the glass and the film. If you cut it on the frame, its not going to stay in place! Air will get in the gaps and it will peel off.Final effect is very good, anti glare and reduces heat. there are a few pinpricks from dust that got trapped but its worked very well. You can remove it and store it but without being able to perfectly stick it to the backing sheet again, i reckon it would damage the mirror finish.I think the biggest advantage is that whenever i use the room, summer or not, I get the benefit of the anti glare on my computer display. Highly recommended.

More water

I bought two rolls of this to cover the windows in my conservatory. The double glazing units are shot and the conservatory is the right temperature about twice a year...outside that is either too cold or far too hot. My conservatory is also overlooked by neighbour's garden.I thought that the privacy, cooler temperature and the fact that this would partially hide the windows that have a bit of condensation inside them was worth a go at using this stuff. The first window I tried was a nightmare, the stuff creased and would not lie flat on the window at all. A bit disheartened and 45 minutes later I attempted the second window, wondering whether or not to return the second roll. Fortunately it took no more than 5 minutes! The secret...more water...don't be shy, make sure the entire surface of the window is wet and allows you to move the covering into place. Peeling off large sheets of the backing is also a bit of a faff, but once peeled back squirt a bit of water on the film surface to help. The instructions are brief, but fine..they don't emphasise enough the need for a scrupulously clean window and plenty of water though. The little tool that it comes with to smooth it out is surprisingly good. The film does it was it says, the room is cooler and the privacy part works really well and it does hide the defective double glazed units. I haven't been able to get them completely crease free and it does start to come away on the edges after a few days. It does go back down, but seems to need a few attempts over several days to get it looking better again.
