The alternate way of replacing the broken hood latch off a Honda Element
You could replace the whole cable from under the console to the hood with a new (or used) one when the latch snaps off; or use this to add a latch to the nub that remains from the broken latch. Just know that you will need to remove some of the plastic that remains on the cable so it can fit into this new latch. Two tiny allen screws will secure the cable to the new latch like a clamp.The install is fairly easy until you are in the footwell trying to trim off the plastic pieces and screw in the latch.

Easy Install
Better than the plastic one that broke. This one is aluminum so I know it will not break again and should last a long time. I would recommend using a dremmel to cut the plastic as that is would made this install easy.

fit 2005 Honda Civic
The way the old handle broke off, I had to cut the remaining plastic on the cable half way and pull it off. The new handle then fits on the cable. The included hex key is soft and took some effort to take out of the screws once I tightened them. Not a huge deal as I don’t intend to remove the handle again

Get it in red for an extra +10HPs
On a particularly cold morning my car wouldn't start so I tried to pop the hood so I could jump my battery and the pull broke right off my cable on my Honda Element. I was worried it was gonna cost me close to 50 bucks for a new cable as well as an afternoon of tinkering around upside down under my dash trying to route the new cable. Luckily someone mentioned this option and it was super easier and so far working great! The hardest part was getting the trim piece off so I could access the cable and then trimming some of the plastic off the cable so I could slip this knob over top and tighten it into the cable. Would definitely recommend this to any other Honda Element owners should your hood release pull snaps like mine did!

Great product
It worked perfectly. No need to remove the inner finder. Removed the plastic panel. Remove the old one, strip away a little more plastic to expose the cable. Install the new one. Test the latch. Reinstall the plastic panel. Your done
