Heavy Heavy , But poor packaging, insufficient for that weight.
Heavy , heavy vice, has a small lateral movement of jaws , packaging need to be modified for international shipment. Wilton has to block all movement inside the box. You also have to lock the keys for transport but… great brand ,Nice vice!

Wilton makes the best vices.
This is the third Wilton vice that I bought for the shop. The first two lasted 12 years and I expect this one to last 6 years, or more, too. This vice is used multiple times a day without problems but eventually the handle gets bent, one of the screws that hold the jaws falls out, or the lock that keeps it from rotating won't hold anymore. The only thing that caused a little bit of work to install this was that the old vice was 5 inches. Wilton now only makes a 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 inch replacement and I had to drill two new holes when mounting it.If you need a great heavy duty vice, consider Wilton.

You're not spinnin me right round, baby
This vice is built rather well and looks to be made out of quality material. However, the swivel feature doesn't seem to work as smoothly as the rest of the vice. The friction bolts on the base get stuck on something internally and getting it to rotate is a chore.

should have never bought harbor freight
The media could not be loaded. 2nd wilton vise. this vise is hands down worth the $. you go to harbor freight and spend half and get crap. the original hb vise has problems gripping, stripped out rotate set screw, slop in the clamp adjustment thread rod and rotational slop. had problems with it holding bolts or anything and torquing it free. the Wilton vise has way better jaws, smooth adjustment rotation and lock. the pipe jaw is indexed better to get more surface area clamping as well. buy this one.

Heavy Duty Vise
Had this in my cart for a couple of weeks watching the price and pulled the trigger on prime day for $152 dollars. I got it the next day and despite zero packing materials around the box, the vise was not damaged. I followed the instructions for mounting and was installed in under 20 mins. I couldn’t be happier especially for the price. I did purchase some white lithium wd-40 due to it needing to be lubricated.

“Rough Around the Edges”
This vise isn’t up to the same quality standard of the older Wilton vises, or the current models that are Made in the USA. This model is Made in China. There are many sharp edges which I ended up cutting my hands on. I ground them down with an angle grinder so they aren’t as much of a problem now.The measure along the back spline is very cheap and peels up easily. I had to grind the corners down on this too since it was catching on things and peeling up even more. The packaging it was shipped in was woefully inadequate. Upon unboxing, the spinner handle was pretty bent. The packaging needs a complete redesign to something “sane”.The overall mechanical workings are kind of rough too, similar to the rough fit and finish. It does the job, so far. I’m not sure how long it’ll hold up and from the quality problems I’ve seen so far I don’t expect the same kind of legendary durability other Wilton vise models are known for.

Vice
This is exactly what I needed for my workbench. Easy to install, can adapt to include other add-ons, solid piece, reasonable price, arrived quickly in good shape.
