Does NOT hold up to a single piece of art work.
After reading the reviews on these colored pencils I decided to order them. After having them for a month I feel I know them well enough to leave an adequate review.Upon arrival ths tin was roughed up pretty badly. All four corners were dented inwards with metal folding over self. I pushed it upwards and fixed it as much as possible. The appearance of the tin didn't seem to have effected the pencils so I was not concerned with it.Upon opening it the pencils appeared undamaged the tray was cracked and falling apart, but again the pencils seemed fine so I didn't care how it looked. The color pigment is okay and layers on itself well enough. The wax does build up quite a bit and can start to effect how the pigment lays down. The pencils quickly dull down and need sharpened. They do NOT sharpen well at all. It seems that the core is broken into pieces so you have to sharpen multiple times because the sharp lead just falls out. After just one art piece the pencils used are down to nubs. I will not be purchasing these again. In my opinion they are not worth the higher price. I should have spent the extra money and purchased the well known competitor.

Great for adult art!
I really like these! The lead is softer than most, but in no way crayon-ish. The set comes in a tin (SO much better than a box!) with two layers of pencils in trays, an eraser, and small sharpener. Each pencil has an approximate color and a number on the end. Personally, I got a paper wrote each number and colored a spot next to it so I know the exact color of each. The layers separate the bolds from the brights. They are a bit more subdue in hue versus overt colors. My opinion is that these pencils are great for adult art due to both the hues and ability of easier blending with the softer leads (which will break easy with too much pressure). I am very pleased.

Great for a budding artist
My son (11) fancies himself a professional artist and is therefore very picky about the art supplies he uses. He actually ordered these by mistake and I told him just to try them and he could always return them if he didn't like them. He is soo pleased with them! Uses them all the time for shading and says he can even color combine. The quality for the price is excellent and the tin they come in keeps everything neat and organized. Very happy with this purchase!

Rich pigment and soft
I'm pleased with this set of soft colored pencils - they're richly pigmented and easy to sharpen. I'm used to the brand prismacolor but this set is great also. Note: They wear down quickly because they're soft but I like laying down a lot of pigment and layering with/over markers. I could use an extra white and black pencils for adding more depth.

Softness
The colors are very good but the quality lacks in places. I used the pencil sharpener that came with it and I also tried another one and the tips are just too soft so the color of the pencil that is showing breaks off. It could just be that I got a defective set but just putting it out there

Pencils everywhere!
The lid doesn’t stay hooked good and the pencils are stored in flimsy plastic trays. If you don’t hold it exactly flat they spill all over.

Vibrant colors
The colors are very vibrant and pleasing to look at, and makes the picture you color with it come alive. I love how there are many shades of the same color, opening up your options as to what to color and how you want it colored.
