You have that super expensive espresso machine sitting on your counter every day pumping out cup after cup of delicious joe, but many people forget that it is a machine that requires regular upkeep like a car needing an oil change. If you don't do it, expect to have problems that will require you to pay $$$ to fix. These small tablets are perfect for my lattego machine to keep the nozzles clean of the coffee oils that will gum up your machine. They are very easy to use, you drop them into the top and select manual coffee grounds. 1/2 a cup later you pull the plug and wait for the soap to clean out the inner workings of the machine, then plug it back in and run water through a few times and your set. This is a monthly thing so it is very easy to forget, but if you want to keep your machine running well, then make sure you have these handy. FYI this is not for decalcification of the machine, that is another different task.

I have the 5400 Philips machine and I didn't really read the instructions or I forgot the details. In either case I have not been performing the maintenance completely. After enough neglect, my unit started clogging up a bit. I updated myself on what maintenance was required and after 1 maintenance, my unit is performing like new. This pack of 10 is a much better value than the smaller count sizes.
