Yes, each pin is interconnected from end to end. The wire works really good.

To my knowledge, this is a standard 5 pin MIDI cable, with pin 2 being shield, pin 4 being voltage reference line, and pin 5 being data line. Typically in MIDI implementation pins 1 and 3 aren't used as they would be with a 5 pin DIN cable. However, 5 pin DIN cables can be used as MIDI cables, but not the other way around. Considering how this listing indicates this cable as a 5 pin DIN 'connector', it's difficult to say if it has the same pinout as 5 pin DIN, or if it just shares the same connection type. I know for sure it works in situations that involve MIDI though.

I don't have any roland boutique equipment, but I use the cables to run my keyboard into my MIDI controlled Carousel Pipe Organ, and also to run a SD card reader into my keyboard to play ragtime and stride music. If your equipment had MIDI "in", and MIDI "out" or MIDI "thru", this cable will connect the devices.

Decent Cable (good value)

Perfectly sufficed. Bought a few of these and set my instruments up with my interface. I have been making music with them for 4 years now with no complaints. Length, compatibility, and functionality all worked out.

Worked fine

I started out with my MIDI interface on my piano, and only needed 3 foot cables. But then I returned that interface for a larger Scarlett audio interface that included MIDI, and suddenly I needed something longer.Grabbed a pair of these, and they worked just fine. Stay in the plugs without issue, and the cables aren't so thick that they're difficult to maneuver where needed. Have had no issues with them.

Availability and Price

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Great quality. The outer rubberized casing is super flexible is it's easier to wrap up and travel with as I am using it to replace the failed cable connecting my Guitar Amp to the Effects Pedal Board. 20' length is a bonus at this price.

A Good Cheap MIDI Cable

This is a great midi cable for the price. Don't expect an extremely robust cable but if you plan to keep it plugged in most of the time and not mess around with it this cable will be perfectly fine, especially for the price.I have had no issues with this product and would certainly recommend it.

I’m using this cable to control a fog machine from a DMX controller, and it works for that purpose with no problems.The price was right, and the quality seems pretty good as well. I’m hoping I have no issue with the ends breaking off like I saw in other reviews, especially since I am gentle when using and storing my cables.
