Q: how can you tell if it is paired?

If you're close to the tank App should show status automatically. Mine has been flawless so far. I have an iPhone. Great product!

Q: What battery does this use?

It uses a CR2032. The case takes some work to get apart to replace the battery. You have to be careful not to break the tabs that hold top and bottom together. Once you have it open, the electronics will fall out if you're not careful. You can see instructions here: http://mopeka.com/homepage/instructions/

yes,, i believe it's a round disk type battery

Q: I am asuming there is no dedicated Tank 1 and Tank 2 sensor? That you program which is which?

I have 9 sensors 6 on 10# tanks 2 on 40# tanks and a different one form the same company for 500# tank. I use the Android app.

Absolute rubbish seller

I bought one of these and it failed within 9 months.It allegedly has a 12 month warranty but that is useless if the seller does not respond.Don't expect any help from Amazon they promise refunds and don't pay them.Absolutely awful service from Amazon and the seller
