Outstanding product, HIGHLY recommended
This is a fabulous shower chair, incredibly well built and beautifully designed. I took a chance on an unreviewed product because the company's website and you tube videos impressed me. They make a variety of high end equipment well regarded by professional PTs (all of which is a lot more expensive than this new model). While it's designed for travel, I'm using this shower chair permanently at home. I'm fortunate to have an extra large shower so leave the chair as-is in between uses but the fact that it easily folds to fit smaller spaces (and for that matter disassembles easily and quickly) should be a major plus for many families.I managed to misplace the very clear assembly instructions during unboxing, yet still put it together in 3 minutes flat. It feels rock solid and handles like a dream. To my surprise, even with Mom in the chair it glides over the medium shag carpet in my bedroom. The wheel locks are intuitive and completely trustworthy. The wheels move so well that even on a level surface, locking is important when entering / exiting. The seat is substantially padded and while waterproof, is not especially slippery. The footrests have so much grip that I put wash clothes over them when Mom is barefoot to protect tender feet. The footrests are the best part. They are uber functional because you have 3 options for entry / exit:1) you can remove the footrest assembly entirely - this is easy, fast, and does not impact the stability of the chair,2) the footrests can remain inserted but (when unlocked and lifted just slightly) swing entirely out of the way,3) the footrest supports can be in forward position with just the footplate in a vertical position. If your shower is tight, removing the footrests entirely is a decent option as the seat is not so high as to cause most people's feet to dangle uncomfortably (depending on person's height of course). Mom is 6' 4" and while seated can rest her toes and the ball of her feet (not her heels) on the floor. The cutout in the seat is generous, making it easy to thoroughly clean genital and perineal areas using a hand held shower attachment with no contortions or fall risk. This flexibility of the footrests is really crucial for us and has more value than just space-saving and easy entry/exit. People living with dementia often need the tactile reassurance of a chair against their thighs to be persuaded to sit down, (because they cannot see the chair when they are standing in front of it, so it ceases to exist in their mind.)Mom has advanced dementia and, like so many American women, also a history of sexual assault. With her feet on the footrests they are a bit heavy but still easy enough to unlock, raise slightly, and swing slowly outwards like at a gynecologists office. This is an unobtrusive way to separate her knees - something she will not do herself - to permit a thorough cleaning, and is definitely preferable to touching her thighs which used to make her feel more vulnerable right at that critical moment in the bathing process. This chair has done wonders to protect my back and improve my Mom's shower experience. It makes dealing with bowel incontinence something I no longer dread. I highly recommend it!

Very good value for the money, but does have a few cons
Pros:* Easy to assemble and to adjust the seat height* Easy to put the footrests on and off and adjust their height* Easy to move – much lighter than the non-rolling commode we had before* Easy to add or remove the commode bucket* Easy to put liners on the bucket* SturdyCons:* The listing says it will go over a 17.5 inch toilet but that isn’t actually true. Ours is 17.5 inches to the top of the bowl, and it does not go over that. The bolts and bar that hold the commode bucket on get in the way, so the clearance is actually more like 17 inches.* It doesn’t do well rolling over any kind of threshold, although you can partly alleviate that by going in at an angle* The wheels are difficult to lock if you are not wearing shoes* When you lift the seat to remove the cover, the seat doesn’t stay up so you have to hold it up. We did find 2 different hacks for this, see details below.* The commode lid is difficult to pick up, but we found a hack for this as well, see details below.* While the seat is somewhat padded, it is not at all comfortable. It’s not as bad when you have the insert in, but when you’re in commode mode it is not comfortable at all.Hacks/discoveries* The hack for the commode lid being hard to pick up was to take two inexpensive cord-style headbands and crisscross them across the lid and then secure them with twist ties to form a handle. You do need to periodically swap them so that you can wash them.* The first hack for the toilet seat lid not staying up is to place a wooden bar crossways behind the armrests if you need it to stay up for a while,. We were using a dressing stick, but I think any kind of wooden stick would work.* The second hack for the toilet seat lid not staying up is to hook a bungee cord around the seat back and then slip the lid under the cord to hold it up. The advantage to this option is you can leave the bungee cord on all of the time, although it is a little bit uncomfortable for the person sitting on the commode.* The other discovery we made is that we can use this as a transport device for getting in and out of a small enclosed toilet area. Unfortunately, as noted above, we can’t actually fit it over the toilet, but we are able to use it to get in and out without the patient having to do much other than stand up and turn. When leaving the bathroom, the caregiver helps the patient stand up and turn about 90°, then brings in the shower buddy and helps her sit down on it. The same basic concept can also be used when entering the bathroom.

Awesome Shower Chair & Best Customer Service
I purchased this shower chair in October 2023 for my mother who is completely disabled, has dementia and is on hospice care. I Spent hours looking for shower chairs and their reviews on Amazon and finally settled on this one and I am so glad I did. It was easy to put together. It was very easy for my caregivers and I to use to give my mom her showers. After having it about 9 months, we had a little issue with the wheels not moving properly so I reached out to customer service and they were so kind to send me replacement wheels at no charge and even though when I called, it was a Friday afternoon, they made sure that my package would be in the mail that day. I really appreciate the kindness they showed me in trying to get the replacement wheels to me as fast as they could. I will definitely purchase more of their products in the future if for no other reason than the kindness that they shown.
