Funko SDCC 2016 Dorbz Batman Returns Burton Exclusive Set

To this very day Batman Returns remains my favorite movie of all time, so when I saw this set of Funko Dorbz figures on the shelf at my local video game/pop culture shop I knew I had to have them. (And on clearance, no less!)Included is the sinister Penguin, the psychotically sexy Catwoman, and of course Batman himself, all instantly recognizable yet portrayed with the cutesie, almost prechool-esque flair that is the trademark of the Dorbz line. Since I don’t intend to ever take these figures out of the original packaging I can’t speak for their durability, but to the eye they appear to be high quality display pieces if nothing else. The paint jobs are fair, and the detailing is actually pretty good for their small scale, accurately capturing such details as the stitching on Catwoman’s suit and the dark circles around Penguin’s eyes. It would have been cool if other accessories had been included (whip, umbrella, batarang, etc) but it’s not a huge deal since these figures don’t have functional hands anyway.Otherwise there isn’t much to say that isn’t already evident from the stock photos; they just kind of are what they are. Again, I don’t know how well they would fare as “toys” for a younger child, but as an adult who can appreciate something quirky every once in a while I was happy to add them to my collection.
