Let me start off by saying that the illustrations in this book were absolutely delightful. And vibrant. And cute. And did I say delightful?Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion is a cute retelling of an old and popular folktale, with a smart and fearless main character who teaches a lion a thing or two about manners.Set somewhere in Africa, Auntie wakes up one day with spots, and Little Red is tasked to bring her some medicine and doughnuts to make her feel better. Little Red makes it past all sorts of animals on the way to her Auntie’s house until she stops for a little rest in the shade of a nearby tree. And that’s when the Very Hungry Lion appears! When he assumes that Little Red and her Auntie might be easy prey, he hatches a plan to eat them both. But Little Red is not fooled. Not fooled at all!‘Nough said!

This is obviously an Africanized version of Little Red Riding Hood. If you like that concept, please read on. Red is smart in this version, which I liked. As a kid, I always wondered how Red could possible thing the wolf was her grandmother, though I did still enjoy the story. Red does recognize the lion for a lion and the hilarity ensues. This is a story I will read over and over again .... to kids.

My two year old and I both love this book. Do yourself a favor and buy this one.

We love this book! We checked it out at the library but we loved so I had to buy it!

This is a great take on a classic story. The story line is easy to follow and very entertaining. The visuals are amazing, and very easy on the eye. Its interesting enough and not too long so it should easily keep the attention of the average 4 or 5 year old. Originally purchased for my 4 year old and now am gifting to all her friends as a birthday present.

I love this fresh take on Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red is intuitive, brave, and smart. My girls love this book so much I had to buy a second copy. Just buy it!

Absolutely love this book. Have bought at least 3 of them as gifts and my 5 yr old loves to read this book often. Cute, funny story but mainly bought this book for the illustrations and story of Little Red Riding Hood told by a cute black girl!!!!

Ein witziges, leicht abgewandeltes Rotkäppchenbuch in englischer Sprache. Dieses Mal freut sich der gefräßige Löwe auf ein Festmahl. Die Bilder sind schön und vielfältig und die Texte sind humorvoll. Es macht mir echt viel Spaß, es vorzulesen.

I took a gamble on this reworking of Little Red Riding Hood, and was glad I did.It's beautiful to look at, fun to read, and gets a fantastic reaction every time.My favourite book from this author.

El libro en sí está muy bien, con dibujos muy bonitos y una buena historia para los niños. No obstante, estoy muy decepcionado con esta compra porque, a diferencia de todos los demás libros que tengo en mi Kindle, este solo lo puedo ver en el propio Kindle (en blanco y negro) y no en el iPad, donde se podría apreciar toda la belleza y colores de los dibujos.

Very funny! My class loved this book. So clever with all its links to the classic fairytale (Little Red Riding Hood).
