I love this camera! I admit, it took me awhile to figure out placement but I got it and now I get to see all the wildlife I knew was there. I use just for fun, Im not really tracking anything. Dont follow the recommended placement of 4 to 5 ft!! You need the camera up over head...I just try to get as high as I can reach. Once you have it up (with a little slack in your tether) place a stick behind it, at the top, to make it tilt downward. This method worked for me the very first time I tried it. It also needs a fairly cleared out area. Ive found when I put it on the heavily wooded and thick brush paths, it gets too many false images. By false, I mean it snaps for no reason. Im thinking it must be leaves moving in the wind, bugs flying by or the occasional bird. The pictures are really good quality too...surprisingly so for the price. I bought 2 sim cards so that I could just swap one for the other instead of moving my locking tether. Just know that you have to buy at least one sim card because this doesnt come with one and wont work without one. Also, for the first 4 weeks, I stressed about the batteries and carried extra with me every time I checked the camera, due to some of the negative reviews I read on battery life. Fear not!!! I have been using this camera on the same set of batteries for two months now!!!

I actually purchased this to replace a defective security system. I was under the impression that it is motion and heat sensitive, but after leaving it for a month and checking it, I found on average 550 pictures per DAY, every time the wind blew and leaves moved! It literally took me two hours to go through and erase them. I certainly won't leave it that long again! Yet on more than one occasion, I know it did not pick up a large white pick-up coming up my drive even when it passed within two feet of the camera. So reliability is questionable. However, it did capture something shocking to me, either a very large bold coyote or wolf that came right up my front walk to my porch!Update: Started checking weekly, worked better. But after five months and even a change of batteries, it has stopped working altogether. Amazon apparently has NO contact for the seller, nor is there any online, nor any online instructions. :(

******Edit*****After returning this camera, I was contacted by the manufacturer and sent a replacement. I've had this camera in the woods untouched for over two weeks. Checked it today and it has been functioning properly. Great pictures too. So pleased I decided to give this camera a second chance. 1/5 stars changed to 4/5. Great customer service.*****Old review***** Returned this camera. If you look for some reason most of the positive reviews for this product are actually for memory card, not the camera. I assembled per directions. Way too many do this don't do this. Put cam out and went back four days later. No pics and the brand new batteries were completely dead. Never had a camera do this and I have owned over twenty.

Best camera I've used yet. I put 12 batteries in it in Sept and it is now almost July and still taking pictures. I like the fact that it still works down to 4 degrees where my other cameras quit working in just the teens. Takes good pictures. Simple to use. Simple is good. Have not had a failure yet with it. Captured some awesome pictures of a bear that we didn't know was around. I would definitely buy another one of these when I'm ready too.Update. Purchased a second one of these. Within 5 mins of installing brand new batteries and didn't even turn on 4 of the batteries burst open and leaked. Returned the product. Gambling with this one. I purchased another identical camera under a different brand name and it works perfect. My father just bought one of these XIKEZAN and it worked just fine. Take a chance. It's a good camera when you get one that works.

Had it now for 8 months. I have it set to take 5 pics upon motion and its supposed to rest 1 minute and then take 5 more pics if there is motion. Well the rest time is really more than 1 minute. I wish the rest time could be set to something less than 1 minute, like 30 secs. The good news is the batteries have lasted the entire 8 months I've had it and its taken over 3 thousand pics. it is sitting thru rain and snow, no problems there. The pics are not wide screen. it's worth 50 bucks. I format the card each time after I view pics on my PC.

My revised review is based on the excellent customer service. I liked all the features the camera has to offer and decided to give this camera another chance. After I try the replacement for several weeks I will rate the camera again.Purchased this camera after I saw the sample pictures in the reviews. Camera was easy to set up and I liked the way it opened. I have several Trail cameras placed on 17 acres and I am always on the lookout to find a camera that does a little better job than what I currently own. This camera according to the sample pictures and it's features could have been what I am looking for. The problem is I could never get it to work.

I decided to purchase this camera after reading all of the positive and negative reviews. Was hoping that the camera would work and I'd have nothing to worry about. I was wrong. The instructions for setup were easy to follow. After adding 12 brand new batteries I placed the camera on a piece of land where I hunt. After letting the camera do its thing for a week, I went out to change SD cards. While approaching the camera I noticed it wasn't working. After downloading the images on my device, I noticed that the camera worked fine for two days and shut off. As a test, I placed 4 new batteries in the camera to see if it would work, and magically it did. I went ahead and placed the additional 8 batteries in the unit, and what do you know, the camera wouldn't turn on.I've decided to return this camera to Amazon and purchase a trail camera from a more reputable manufacturer. I need something that I can place in the field for a few weeks and not have to worry if its working or not.My advice, DONT BUY THIS CAMERA!
