Awesome tool - absolutely love this compact saw
Really can’t go wrong with Dewalt XR Max tools. I own a ton of these DeWalt XR Max tools for and use them daily. I love the short base and the ability to flip the blade around in the other direction. Solid performance and solid build quality as your would expect from DeWalt. If you aren’t in a hurry, you can regularly find these on sale which makes them a great value for the money spent, especially compared to another “red M” brand. If you are looking for a tool that ups your home improvement or professional game, this is it.

Very Happy with the DeWALT Brand.
It's a DeWALT! In my opinion , They make the best tools all around. Cordless or corded. This tool is very powerful and the quick blade change is a snap. Back in 1994 When I bought my first house, I went to H.D. and bought some Porta Cable corded Tools. Circular saw, reciprocating saw, and a jig saw. These tools were the best tools that I could have purchased back then. They were all made in the USA! Getting back to DeWALT, You can not go wrong. Some time back I purchased a Half inch DeWALT hammer drill from Amazon. I remember it being a very good deal Price wise. I also remember reading a review about there being rust on the tongs inside the chuck. and how this reviewer thought Amazon was selling a defective batch of these drills at a discount. This is not rust. It is the color of the high strength steel that they use. The power of this drill is unbelievable! I still have my 14.4 volt 1/2 inch Dewalt drill driver. After changing the brushes once, It is still going strong!

Great tool, compact, not overly heavy
This thing is a little monster, I mean it has power, a lot of it. More than the large bulky one I had.Easy to hold and use, just make sure you are holding on to it.

Awesome
Love this saw, packs the same punch as a full size model but stores a lot easier and fits in tighter spaces. Has plenty of power to cut large lumber or heavy steel. Still going strong after lots of abuse

One hand use
Since I'm not out in the field remodeling and renovating any longer I use my older nicad pod style cordless tools to do work around the house and in the yard, I recently purchased an adaptor that converts the old pod style tool so that it uses the new lithium ion batteries. My DeWalt recip saw is 16 years old and this adaptor made it sing like a new tool, but while out trimming limbs it just stopped working. Something is broken inside, not repairable so I had to start looking for a new one on Amazon. After some research on the web I found 2 that I liked and weren't too expensive, I chose the compact recip saw as it is a bit lighter in weight and a few inches shorter than the other traditional style and can be used one handed. It arrived this morning and I took it outside and started using it right away cutting small limbs from a fallen tree branch. Indeed I can use it with one hand, light and powerful with those new batteries, one thing l noticed right away is that the foot that is supposed to pivot is very stiff and hard to move. I will most likely have to put some WD on it to get it loosened up, I also think the price point is too high for a smaller less powerful recip saw. It is 400 RPM's slower and a few ounces lighter than a traditional saw.It fits well in my hand but if it is pushed hard and one is not wearing gloves this saw's handle will leave blisters on the area between the thumb and index finger. The saw performed well through many hours of cutting limbs and pruning out in the hot Texas sun, and all can do is hope it lasts as long as my old one.
