Q: Can this be cut to whatever size you need?

Yes. This product is very sturdy and strong. I bought the larger sized one and cut it into 3 pieces to cover a rip in my Leather jacket.

Q: Can I use it to repair a fabric sofa?

We used only on leather and it was great. Their website states: "Sticks to all natural and synthetic leathers, vinyl and most fabrics. Not suitable for machine-washing." But I would contact the mfg directly and describe the type of fabir you have. They are in England and email is info@mastaplasta.eu but they do respond promptly. Good luck!

It's dark brown, and consistent from one patch to another. The picture is a very accurate representation.
