Much better than I expected!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is a very compact and functional design. I love the color scheme as well.Functionality:It works just as the original except you can actually see the screen when in the docking station. You can use the docking station and play on the console at the same time. Awesome!

Great multi-purpose dock for the Nintendo Switch
I originally bought this dock because I wanted one for another TV in the house. Along with being difficult to find, the Nintendo version of the dock is expensive. What I like about the dock, as many other reviewers pointed out, is that it's also great for travel. While I'm not usually traveling with it, it allows me to play my Switch anywhere in my house whiles it's charging, something I can't do with the original dock. This feature alone makes it a great improvement over the original dock. The SIWIQU dock is very lightweight, so much so that you would think that the weight of the Nintendo Switch would be too much for it. While it's made of plastic and hollow on the inside and weighs very little, there are 3 non-slip pads on the bottom and the dock doesn't move at all when on a smooth surface. If you are placing the Switch on the dock somewhat blindly, such as reaching around the back of the TV, it can take a little moving around to get it placed to exactly where it needs to make the USB connection, but it's not too difficult once you get used to it, and once it's in place, it's very stable. The model I have includes an Ethernet port, so if you are using it where you have spotty or no wifi, you are able to connect it to a wired network connection. It also has a standard size HDMI port and 2 USB ports, allowing you to connect 2 wired controllers. Finally there is a button on the back that allows you to switch between the HDMI display and the Switch's own display. This is useful if your Switch is docked near a display you are in front of, such as a computer monitor. If there is no HDMI cable plugged in, the dock automatically uses the Switch's display - no need to press the button if it was previously using HDMI.Overall I only had one complaint with this dock, and that is the obnoxiously bright blue light that appears on the center face of the dock. The light is on whenever the Switch is active, whether charging or not. I'm honestly not sure why it is there at all, but the placement of this light is actually a distraction. I had the dock placed behind the TV, and when sitting on the couch across from the TV, because of the elevation of the TV display, I could see this dock, and that light was actually a distraction, even as tiny as it is, because it is so bright. I easily fixed this by putting a piece of black electrical tape over it. I don't know what it is with manufacturers who like to use these insanely bright, blue (of all colors) lights. Even a white colored light would have been less harsh and distracting.Overall, I recommend this dock, even as a replacement to the original Nintendo Switch version, which is known to have a design flaw that can scratch the screen. It's easier to place and remove the Switch from this dock, and it provides a great way to continue playing while the device is charging. It's small and light enough to easily carry with you if you need to bring a Switch dock. The box that this dock comes in is very rugged as well, with thick cardboard, if you want to protect it in your suitcase.

Don’t trust it.
Listen to the other reviews. I took this on a trip thinking it’d be the perfect replacement for a switch USB-C dongle that I previously used. Worked fine as a charging stand so I could game and charge on a table at the airport. I started having issues once I tried to use this with any TV. Switching from the tabletop mode to TV mode resulted in a black screen, and the one time I did get the switch to show up on the TV it had a 1-2 second input delay. At one point while testing this dock, I thought it bricked my switch as it would no longer turn on. Here’s a tip: holding the power and volume up buttons appears to have done a forced restart, and saved me from my heart attack.Sadly I bought this in December and didn’t have the opportunity to try it until the last weekend of March, or else this would’ve been the quickest return of my life.

Stoped working after 3 months
Here is an update to my review. Seller contacted me after my initial review below. They were very helpful and wanted to make the situation right. I was sent a new dock station and it was quick to arrive. The new one works great! I am very pleased with the customer service on this product. Buy this product just because you will be pleased with the service if anything happens to the product.Overall I really liked this product. It has suddenly stopped working and now I’m unable to return this.

Replacement item works.
The first item sent did not cast the Switch 2 to the TV screen. The replacement item charges the Switch 2 and casts to any TV. I am satisfied with this product.

It's fine...
It does what it's supposed to do without breaking the bank. You get what you pay for though. The price is the selling point and the Nintendo site has these sold out and you can only get it refurbished at the moment. It is really light and it almost can't support the switch depending on how your cords run. I can get over this. To me the biggest flaw is it decides when it wants to just not work. I find that it happens mostly (but not ONLY) when the switch times out (auto shut off) and then I have to power cycle it when I want to play again, which is annoying when I'm in bed and find out that it has decided inflict a first world problem upon me. It also is annoying because that basically means if I didn't save before this happens, I've lost progress in a game. Fortunately this is less of a problem nowadays because most games have some form of auto save, but that's a huge crutch for this product to be leaning on. Another huge flaw (to me) that people may not notice is that the original dock allows the switch to take control of the tv. Meaning that if the tv is off or in a different input mode than the switch is connected to, the original dock would switch the tv on AND set it to whatever hdmi port the switch is connected to. This product does not offer this functionality, which I would love when I was in a hotel and their tvs are rigged weirdly. It's a fine enough substitute, but by the time you buy the plug in adapter and hdmi cord (if you don't already have spare ones), you're better off putting out more money for an official replacement (when available).
