Ok for young ones
Took me back to my childhood. My son liked this and although he was a bit old for it at 8 he did play on it probably better for someone younger. It is good educationally if you are starting out in school. The screen is ok not as up to date as other screen. Voice isn't that good. Works good and buttons work. Probably could have spent more on a something else and got better for value for money

Take me back to 1983
Well I saw this and I knew I had to buy it for my grandson [and myself) took me right back. Nostalgia hit me 1983 . And im not the only one anyone old enough to rember has a ho on it lol. Not the same quality but good enough.

Great, but not exactly the same.
Maybe my arms were weaker as a child, but I remember it being heavier when I was younger. This new one is very light. Functioning is exactly the same

Just like the one I had as a child! Minus the C Cell Batteries! *Recommended*
I had one of these when I was around 6 years old and it helped my spelling immeasurably. Years later I would be diagnosed as having Dyslexia (as an adult) and the assessor believed that my time with the Speak & Spell was what made it so hard for my learning challenge to be discovered. Essentially, I had gotten used to seeing the words as an image, which is why I can spell well, despite having some issues reading from certain fonts and page colours. I brought this for my 6 year old granddaughters who adore it and have barely put it down since they got one for Christmas. To see the joy on their faces as they play with the Speak & Spell (even with the authentic American accent and spelling quirks), takes me right back to a happier time in my early youth. It makes their enjoyment of it feel so validating and is a testament to the effectiveness of the product and its design. Kids everywhere have way more advanced screens and sound on the most common of devices, but there is something to be said for the benefit of nostalgia, intertwined with shared child hood experiences that have 40 years between them. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Faulty - not all buttons work
Bought for my 7 year old as an Easter Gift. Some of the letters don't work at all when pressed, rendering it useless and is being returned. One very disappointed child and two very unhappy parents.

Retro is the future
Brought the item for my grandson for his 3rd Christmas and he enjoys it as much as I did when I had one when I was younger( the 80s). Really good to see retro electronics still have a use for today's young generation. Thank you, to the seller, manufacturers and of course I #founditonamazon

80s nostalgia
Good product that brings back memories of our childhood, but not the same quality as we remember. The American accent is also a bit annoying. My son quickly got bored
