Meet Me In Las Vegas
The culmination of two different storylines, Harbinger Wars marks the new Valiant’s first crossover event. Longtime fans remember Unity, the original Valiant’s mega-crossover involving every title they were publishing at the time that put “event” comics on the map. For this inaugural attempt, the new Valiant chose to keep things are a little more reserved, with Bloodshot and Harbinger being the only ongoing titles involved.Where things left off: Bloodshot attacked the PRS base hoping to find out his past, only to find several imprisoned psiot children, instead. With these children in tow, Bloodshot makes his way into the Nevada desert. Meanwhile, Peter Stanchek and the other Renegades narrowly escaped capture from PRS, and Peter received a vision from the enigmatic Bleeding Monk, telling him to head west. Quite unwittingly, both parties are heading for a collision course in Sin City! What proceeds is a war. Not quite the epic war with gratuitous amounts of fighting going on (though there is that), but more a battle of ideologies centered on the psiot children escaped from PRS. The four sides (Four? But I’ve only mentioned two… hmmm…) each has their own motivations and intentions, and those come into conflict over these kids. What I appreciated most, besides some very cool moments with characters I love, was the end result. The victor was not who I anticipated, and was a bold move on Valiant’s part. And the repercussions… you can be guaranteed that there is no “reset button” pressed to put things back to the status quo. The titles are involved are left dealing with this event as a result, one that is not easily resolved. It is safe to say that the parties involved do not part on friendly terms.I strongly recommend that anyone interested in reading Harbinger Wars, and who has not read any of Bloodshot or Harbinger before, seek out and read the first two trades of both titles first.

Harbinger Wars
This book collects the Harbinger Wars miniseries published by Valiant Entertainment. This series was the first major crossover event in the new Valiant Universe. Calling this event a “war” might be overstating the facts slightly, but it was quite a battle. The four sides in this battle are:Bloodshot and the psiot children he has recently rescued from Project Rising Spirit facilities.Another group of psiot children that escaped from the same Project Rising Spirit facilities (calling themselves Generation Zero), along with the stars of the Harbinger comic, the Renegades.Toyo Harada and his harbingers.Project Rising Spirit with their team of H.A.R.D. Corps.Every group involved in this battle thinks they are doing the right thing. Bloodshot is helping the children he is caring for to reunite with their friends Generation Zero. Generation Zero is just trying to be free for the first time in their lives. Harada is trying to “free” all the psiot children PRS had control of to care for them in his facilities. Well, maybe PRS has no real good reason for what they are doing. In the end, who could win this battle. This book is a great read and has the usual high quality production values that Valiant has come to be known for. I recommend it to anyone.

The way a crossover should be done.
This mini-series coincided with Harbinger and Bloodshot and told about the same events, so why would I give it five stars? I read the Harbinger version of this first and loved the concept of the Renegades from that title getting involved in this showdown between two super-corporations in Las Vegas. Now I get to see the same events from a different angle, so I didn't "miss" anything with my first read, but got a bigger perspective with the second. The art is just to die for in this one. This version of the war is told with the narrative framework of a goverment inquisition into Project Rising Spirit. This allows us a new appreciation for the forces at work here. We also get to really know the super-powered kids from Generation Zero, and here's hoping they will someday either get their own title or show up in other comics in the years to come. That is, if any of them survive! Valiant has really something special here, and let's just hope they realize it and keep it coming.

Combining Bloodshot and Harbinger
Harbinger Wars was Valiant's first cross-over "event." Combing themes and characters from the books Bloodshot and Harbinger. IT actually crosses over into both of those titles, if you check out Volume 3 of either series, you will notice that they are both titled Harbinger Wars as well. And while neither of those story lines reaches the heights of the mini contained here, they're both worth your time to check out. This is the real meat of the event however. The battle between Toyo Harada's Harbinger Foundation and Project Rising Spirit over "ownership" of a group of psiot children, referred to as Generation Zero. Throw the modern introduction of HARD Corps into the mix and you get an amazing well set-up, complex, and often violent look at the underbelly of the Valiant Universe.Another Must-Read volume in a string of classics by Valiant Comics.

The Harbinger Wars Volume collects the entire Harbinger Wars series ...
The Harbinger Wars Volume collects the entire Harbinger Wars series in issues 1 through 4 (but not the crossover issues in the other Valiant titles). The Harbinger Wars sees a group of young children with psiotic powers that they are just starting to understand. They are in the middle, while Bloodshot, Toyo Harada and Peter Stanchek (from the Harbinger team) all vie to either control or free the children. The story starts out with a bang and slowly builds until issue 3. I felt it started really fall apart, with a sharp wrap up in the end of issue 4. All in all, a decent story, but a bit short from the epic crossover event I had hoped for.

Great crossover by a great company!
If you're tired of reboots and epic, money draining events from the big two comic publishers, then this is the crossover collection for you. Valiant Comics is my favorite publisher and they've been doing things right since the beginning. This collection contains the complete four issue mini-series of the crossover event of the year. A great story with excellent art, what are you waiting for...buy it!

This is how a crossover should be done!
Even though the art is not consistent, however they are not bad. The story is brilliant and there's no denying that. We get to see the introduction of the H.A.R.D corps and different Psiots with incredible abilities. This is what you call war as it's not about winning it's about surviving and heroes do not always win. If you're not following valiant, i suggest you start ASAP!!
