Bright colours

These paints are good they mix well so many gorgeous colours dry in know time. They are expensive but worth it as they are so nice to use when producing a piece of art I will definitely buy more as my art journey continues 😀

Yes, yes! YES!

Wow, great selection, you may think these are expensive but you get alot of paint for your money and great pigment. Not hard to mix.

JUST FABULOUS

They’ve only just arrived so not used them on a project but having got the Kuretake 48 set I already know how they will behave when used. They aren’t as truly transparent as other brands. That said they are absolutely packed with pigment unlike others at the same price point. These colours are absolutely amazing and I can see that I’ll be using them a lot and they will certainly save me from doing a lot of mixing.Unfortunately I’m not overly impressed with the way they are presented the cardboard box arrangement doesn’t quite work for me. I use a white dinner plate as a palette so attach the colours I intend to use round the edge with blutack and use the middle of the plate for diluting and mixing, I’d be happier if they were in a tin box with mixing palette incorporated. Also in this smaller set there is no swatch sheet, just a very small printed area inside the box lid. I don’t think it would have added hugely to the cost to include a swatch sheet as they do with the 48 set.Despite these negatives the paints are of amazing quality and I highly recommend them. I’m not in the financial position to buy professional quality paints but these a certainty very close to it.

A mix between gouache and watercolours, all in a lovely green box.

There's a huge amount of hype around these paints, rave reviews and accolades on You Tube. I'm afraid I couldn't resist. They arrived promptly, a nice suprise as they came direct from Japan. The box is quite large 32x20cm ( approx) and a solid card box. In the lid is a chart to fill the paint colours in. It's all in Japenese, except for the numbers. This chart corresponds to the layout/ order of the paints. They are in white trays approximately 4.5x 2.5 cms, and are named in Japenese but numbered. I would definately urge you to fill this chart in, and I've also done a larger one on water colour paper, as it's hard to really see what the colours are, as many are similar in appearance or too dark to see. For example; there appear to be a great many similar reds, but in fact there is a great selection of a wide spectrum. I went for the 36 colours, as I wanted the gold. This box has a super array of colours, they are really good pigment, and a creamy consistency , more like a gouache than traditional watercolours. There is a very slight sheen in the colours, a bit like the sheen you get from coloured inks. The white is very slightly shiny, and the pearlescent white very shiny indeed. There is no silver, but a pewter type colour and a coppery gold. I've really enjoyed playing with these paints, and am glad I went for the larger set. I think they are good value for money, as they are high quality pigmented paints, that can be used as water colours with Lots of water, or a very creamy opaque paint. So a versatile addition to any artist, and a good starter set to someone who is perhaps nervous of watercolours.

Really great quality paints

These are a really lovely paints. The coverage is brilliant and the colours really sing; no wonder many painting book authors recommend them.Fenella

Well presented piece of kit.

Nice piece of kit. If u are looking for pans that wet quick and are ready to paint quick, then the mission gold pallette is faster, but it's almost double the price. I bought this pad to add to that as there were some colours I didn't have and thought they were good size pans. The colours are not chalky easy to use but would spray before starting whereas with mission you don't need to. Colours go on evenly and I fairly vibrant. The warm sap greens of which there are three is a good gradual range of colour, as I tend to paint mostly leaves. It's a mid budget, good size pans and a nice addition. Enjoy.

Gorgeous colours

Had the set of 36 so decided to buy the Art Nouveau out of curiosity. The colours are bright, very pigmented and all different from the previous set. I’m absolutely in love with these.
