Yale Locks 3PM888CH2 Tubular Mortice Latches 64mm 2.5-inch - Chrome Finish (Pack of 3)

Replaced my old inside door latch in 5 minutes and fixed a niggling problem that had been there for years. The metal body and spring mechanism in this latch is better grade than that of the flimsy and semi-broken one it replaced. Very happy with my purchase, and will fix other latches around the house with the two others in this pack when needed.

I bought it for replacement my kitchen door and easy to install, but only one thing is the screw is not good. You need to change to use yours. Obviously the good brand is worthy . Highly recommended.

Replaced 2 door latches, as after some time they had started to disintegrate inside, and have one spare.These were great. They fitted relatively easily - had to make minor adjustments to where the plate fits. Screwed into place - inserted the spindles and put handles back on. Probably didn’t need to take the whole handle off, but was even easier to fit well.

We occasionally experience an indoor latch that breaks so it's good to know there is a ready supply of these available as replacements. When I searched it was tricky to be sure I was getting the correct brass finish and the correct 3" size because of colour showing up on some listings but these Yale seemed to fit the bill and Yale are a well known British company so they stood out to me as the ones to get.Oddly they came from Germany and were late so our door was not working for longer than it might have been had we gone out to B&Q and bought them, but that aside they have Yale on the face plate that fits perfectly into the cut-out left by our old face plate so that was a good start. The internal rod is also the correct size and length to fit through the latch onto both handles. A really important feature.I read in previous reviews that the screws were a bit short, and they are, but we used our old longer brass screws so that was simple. I don't think we swapped our striking plate with it's curved lip over to this one that has a straight lip either. Therefore we had no problems fitting it at all.One thing was different. The opening & closing latch that comes in and out of the face plate is significantly smaller than all of our other latches in the house. That's not swappable and was disappointing. There is no way to check that you can get one of those that is the same size and I can't help but wonder if that is something do do with those supplied to the German market being slightly different.I bought two so we now have one spare available for the next door that goes. The next time I'm passing B&Q we might pop in there and buy more. :)
