The charger sources it's power from a standard NEMA 5-15 plug, 120 vac. As for using this charger as a power source? it is only suitable for charging a 12 or 24 volt battery. The device senses voltage to determine it's output. Connecting a load other than a battery will not successfully power the load (e.g.; motor or lamp)

Q: Will it force charge a dead battery, or just error out at charge less than say 10%?
