Great entertainment and learning
my 5 year old twin grandsons loved this! I got one for each of them and they had a blast digging out and cleaning the gems. They pretended they were archeologists. Highly recommend.

Fun but a little lacking in the samples
My son LOVES rocks and had so much fun digging up and finding the rocks. I do have to say that I was a little disappointed by the rocks though because they were definitely not as in the picture on the box. Some of them were very small and some didn’t even really look like one of the samples. But my son still had fun, so I’d rate it 4 stars

A little messy but worth it
My seven year old son LOVED this. We have never had a kit like this before but he played with this for over an hour the first night, which is unprecedented for him! It is a bit messy - dusty mostly, but nothing that won't clean up easily. Honestly it is so fun I would like to do one myself. It's really satisfying. I did worry a little bit about all the dust he was breathing in, as he has breathing issues but he was okay with wearing a mask.

Nice
Got this for my grandson he really enjoyed it this is the second one we have done together what I learned from this one is adding water makes a bigger mess and do not break it apart it will just take longer to find the stones and some are really small.
