Q: Will it work on the black tank?

I purchased mine to go on a tank for a mosquito control system at my house. But from some of the reviews by RV You Tubers (I have an RV as well), they had mixed results on a black tank due to it having more “stuff” in the water.. The sensor is sonar based, so anything in the water that causes reflections would lead to inaccurate readings.

Q: Does it measure if the tank is sideways?

The sensor need to be placed on the bottom of the tank. It will not measure if placed on the side of the tank.

Q: How would this work on a 50l×6w×30h tank?

So what I've noticed is that the size of the tank selected in the settings isn't exactly correct, but once you match it up with yours it seems to work fairly well in its ability to monitor/report levels. For example, I have a 21 gallon RV tank, measuring 39" x 16" x 8". What I did was filled the tank to 100% (visually measured - just where I maxed out the tank), calibrate/link and install the sensor. Then I adjusted the tank size in the settings until the reading corresponded with my visual assessment of the tank. From that point forward it seemed to measure pretty accurately.
