Quickly Effective
I have had the 95 pint model running now for less than 24 hours (about 20 total), and it has already taken our maybe 1800 sq. ft. unfinished basement's humidity down from 67% to 47% (judged using a separate hygrometer) and the "smart" feature decided it was already at a low enough level to turn itself off, despite rain overnight. I previously had two 70 pint models from a major appliance brand running 24x7 that were extremely noisy and virtually useless at actually removing humidity. Needless to say I am very happy so far. I will update if there are issues in the future, but this unit seems well built and the easy access to the coils for cleaning should help.UPDATE 5/28/2020 - After being left off (unplugged) throughout the winter, the dehumidifier is now just displaying "EC" and won't run anymore. I have contacted Danby support, and will update further once I hear more.Update 6/13/2020 - No word back from Danby yet. I’ll call them when I get some free time.Update 6/23/2020 - On Sunday, after about a 45 minute hold time, I spoke with a very nice customer service rep from Danby who informed me that I would have to bring the unit to a local repair shop. I plan to do that tomorrow. I will update on the outcome.Update 6/24/2020 - Dropped it off at the appliance shop. They don't have a good timeframe estimate because they may need to order parts.Update 6/27/2020 - Heard back from the appliance shop that it can't be fixed. Refrigeration unit or similar to that (I didn't quite catch it). So, I will get to pick it up Monday and then have to work with Amazon customer service to get it swapped out, based on the paperwork the appliance shop will provide. More to come...Update 6/29/2020 - Picked up the unit, but the original instruction of working with Amazon was changed to work with Danby. Danby is not taking calls in the contact center right now due to the pandemic. Their chat support is also not available. So, I sent in an e-mail response to their email telling me the location of the appliance shop. Hopefully someone will call me based on that.Update 6/29/2020 - I received a prompt email response from Danby that they will repay me the purchase price of the unit if I send a photo with the power cord cut (they helpfully noted to unplug it first) and the serial code stickers cut off. I am satisfied with that and have sent the pictures.Update 8/17/2020 - Still waiting for a check from Danby. I have sent two follow-ups in. Lowering rating to 3 stars due to how long this has taken.Update 9/11/2020 - Last update. I finally got a check from Danby for the purchase price. This process definitely took too long. Fortunately it finally came, but the communications and customer service simply disappeared after the case was determined to require a refund. I sent numerous e-mails that went into a black hole. I even tried opening a new case, and never got a response. I actually planned to call them this afternoon to find out what was going on when I saw the check come in the mail. Oh well. At least this is finally over.

All Dried Out
Water kept dripping from tubing connection to the water pump. Can’t pull tubing out to reinsert.Other than that minor problem the dehumidifier works great. Dried out my basement and brought the humidity down 20 points In 24 hours. It’s very quite running compared to others I have owned. I would definitely order again when the need arises and I would recommend to others.

Works Well, bucket was damaged
This dehumidifier works well for controlling the humidity levels for my indoor pool. Luckily I had a floor drain nearby, because the bucket arrived cracked. The rest of the packaging was fine, so it must have been a factory issue. I called Danby but they suggested to ship the entire unit back to amazon. Since I don't need the bucket I just kept it, but it would've been nice for Danby to just send a new bucket, as I don't think it was amazon's fault nor would I want to deal with the hassle of returning a bulky dehumidifier.

Huge improvement
We bought this for our 900 sq foot basement which was very humid and had a smell because of it. We had a smaller one that was noisy and stopped doing the job. We bought this one with a bigger capacity. It makes minimal noise and it doing an incredible job. Our basement is cooler, drier, and no longer has any smell. Would buy this again in a second !

Danby stopped working less than a year, horrible customer and warranty service
Not certain why this product is rated 4 stars. I purchased it to reduce humidity in my basement. Live in Georgia and with my 35% setting it ran continuously for months shutting off seldom. It stopped working with error code EC in August. It would resume working after a reset but kept shutting off with error code EC. I filed a ticket with Danby customer service website. Danby website points to various service depots where product has to be hand carried for diagnosis. This was not convenient. Technician at service depot was gracious to provide report to me stating unit needed replacement. I had to bring unit back, cut cord and send in pictures of all this to my Danby problem ticket. I called in August 28 with all necessary information but Danby did not do anything until September 4 (after long weekend) and only after i called on September 4 stating "your replacement should be delivered within 7-10 business days". You have to call in and work with customer service to have them do anything. September 10 after calling in i was told Danby can not even look into order and delivery status until September 18. Brenda from Danby will hang up on you after informing you . Even if Danby is able to deliver my warranted replacement on September 18 i discourage anyone from buying product from this company due to lack of customer service. I expected more from a Canadian company. This report will also be provided to consumer reports.Danby eventually sent me a replacement in Sep2019. Device had another breakdown June2020 with pump failure. Took another 2 months to get Danby attention then another technician haul to fix pump. Got repaired device in September2020 and then EC again in October.Do not buy Danby dehumidiers. Canadian customer support is crap even if they are working from home.

Loud but works well
I thought this thing would be close to silent, but its loud. At least the sound is soothing so no real complaints here. It also works extremely well. The basement had 80% humidity at one point, but this thing dropped it down to 70 in a matter of minutes. Hope it lasts me a while.

Easy to setup, use and maintain and auto pump is awesome !
I bought this dehumidify primarily because it had (1) Built in water pump to pump water from water collection to drain/sink....and (2) It has an ionizing air filter. As is any dehumidifier be prepared for a heavy piece of equipment to be delivered.Let it sit for 6 hours before powering on.Did you read that ? Let it sit. For 6. Hours ! Before turning It on.Compressors have oil in them and you have no idea if box has been upside down, sideways etc. so let everything settle in the components, then turn it on.This thing holds 95 pints which is a ton of water. However it will likely take you less than 24 hours to fill that thing. It has either a drain you can hook a hose up to and drain downward into a drain, or you can use the built in pump. The hose drain is GRAVITY FED, so the hose must be draining lower than humidifier. The pump will PUMP the water ANY DIRECTION, so you can pump up to a sink or out a window. It’s actually not that loud for a dehumidifier and surprisingly it doesn’t put off a whole lot of heat.It has built in Hygrometer and you can set what humidity you want the area to be.It’s really easy to keep clean on the intake filter which is washable.Pretty solid dehumidifier.

works lile a champ
Noise level is better than other humidifiers I've tried. We have it set up with the internal automatic pump emptying into a 5 gallon pail. It fills that pail about half full every 12 hours. If you are not going to be around to empty it, set the auto pump function off and the unit will shut down when the internal tank is full. So far we like it much better than the LG we tried last month. I would recommend this one

Makes an effective space heater
This was installed in the laundry room of my 1500 sq. foot finished basement in order to reduce humidity levels.I like the air ionization feature however I'm not sure it really does anything. The unit was only really effective at reducing humidity in the laundry room despite leaving all the doors in the basement open. The laundry room hovered between 42% and 50% but the rest of the basement never went below 65-70%. This is with the unit running full time on continuous drain mode. One thing this unit does well is generate lots of heat, which is exactly what you want when trying to reduce humidity during a heat wave. The laundry room now doubles as a sauna.I would not purchase this unit unless you have a large open space to dehumidify. For a finished basement with walls, I'd recommend two or more smaller, quieter units that generate less heat.

Great machine, worthless service
This machine is impressive (a few weeks in). It's very loud (the fan, at normal speed), but spits out a few litres in a few hours, so I don't run it often. Unfortunately, my limited interactions with the warranty have already been a disaster. Broken promises, inept service, and weeks of delay in fixing their obvious website issues. Don't expect any service at all - you won't even have the option to purchase a warranty.

Does what it’s suppose to.
Had it for a couple weeks now, and it has done the trick. My basement was damp, I had a smaller unit good for one room, this unit seems to take care of the entire basement (under 1000 sqft)
