Wallaroo Hat Company Men’s Outback Fedora – UPF 50+, Adjustable, Designed in Australia

I like this hat so much I bought it in both colors (brown and natural). It gives good brim (I have a skin cancer issue), feels light on the head and looks stylish (IMHO). I bought the L/XL which just fits my bulbous noggin (7 5/8's or 61cm) perfectly. In fact, I removed the internal sizing string from both hats because I don't need it. The hat grips my head snugly enough where it won't blow off in even a moderate breeze, but not so tight it is uncomfortable or mats down my hair. I haven't tested them yet for an all-day wear on a hot day, but I suspect that air will pass through the crown weave enough to give good ventilation. I like that the hat is soft and pliable, not stiff and hard like many straw panamas. I won't try to crush/pack them, even though I think they could take it. I don't know yet how they'll hold up over time, but they seem sturdy enough. Will update this review if I encounter any opinion-changing issues over time. But for now, very pleased!

This is my favorite hat! I wear this hat almost daily. It is lightweight, cool, & comfortable.I am so glad that I finally found a stylish hat that fits well & does a great job of protecting me.It is easy to reshape if it gets a little beaten up, it is a pretty sturdy hat & can hold up to quite a bit of wear & tear.I was a little hesitant about buying a paper hat, I was worried about it holding up well during the rainy season in Uganda thankfully I have had no issues with this hat at all! I love this hat & I will be ordering a backup hat in another color.

I have a 7 3/4 head size and this hat (lg/xl) actually fit! I also live where the temps regularly get to or above 100F and this hat is quite comfortable to wear for hours in that climate. Because my head is so big I had no need for the adjustable strap and therefore took it out. When it gets windy pushing it down on my head a bit more seems adequate enough that I don’t feel a need for a chin strap (hasn’t blown off yet). I also have a shaved head that is prone to sunburn and haven’t been sunburned even after five hours canoeing down a river. I dislike sunblock more than most and this hat is letting me skip using it on my head and face.

I use my hat for working around our property. I've packed it for vacations too. It is amazingly resilient to abuse. And it is very comfortable to wear. The synthetic materials are SO much better than natural fibers like straw or felt.

This hat is well made, and I received it in a box within a box to keep it from being damaged. My problem was that I was expecting a classic mans Fedora. I didn't realize that Outback Fedora meant Cowboy Hat in U.S.A. The brim was much wider than I envisioned, and it just lay down flat. The rim is too wide and limp to really hold a flip shape like a traditional straw Fedora will. If you'r looking for a hat to do gardening in, then you may appreciate it.

I LOVE this hat. I have never had a "sun" hat before, as I usually would wear a baseball style cap. But this looks very nice on me, and it's made well, and will be packable for trips. I was worried about it not being large enough, as I wear a 7 5/8 hat size. It was snug, so I left it tightly on a small volleyball overnight, stretching it slightly, and now it fits perfectly. :)

Of all the Wallaroo Fedora styles this is the only one (that I'm aware of) that has a thin wire within the brim that allows you to mold the brim. Very flexible. This is my favorite beach hat off all time.Quality, style and comfort are 5 star.

I just bought my second one of these hats. The first one was about four years ago and I still wear it as a work hat.Provides protection from UV, great ventilation, lightweight and comfortable. My favorite thing about this hat is the tag says 'spot clean only', but if the hat is dirty and sweaty, I fill a basin with hot water and a few ounces of fantastik, submerge the hat for twenty minutes and rinse well with clean cold water. Usually I do it twice. Set the hat out to dry on top of a bowl and dry. Not perfect, but pretty clean. I have done this at least 10 times to my old one and had no problem with the durability of the hat, though you may need to hot glue the band back on after.

Don't be fooled by the model picture. The hat arrived and to be fair, it did resemble the product photo. Unfortunately, unlike the modeled photo, it is made from very soft fabric which holds no shape so you are left with two possible styles. Worzel Gummidge or village idiot. You adjust the hat by tightening a cord sewn to the inside of the hat. As soon as I tried to adjust the size, the sleeve holding the cord instantly came away from the hat due to weak stitching. The positives are that I believe it would protect my head from UV exposure, however a bin liner would do the same and I would look equally deranged. For the price, an absolute rip-off. Don't go near it. If you want to rummage around bins it will suit you. I regret refusing the hat my blind grandmother knitted for me when I was 7 years old.

Love it. There is nothing to dislike. It is light, airy and svelte (my wife would tell me if it wasn’t).I wear hats lightly, yet experienced no problems in moderate breeze.Won’t wear it on a sunny day with threat of showers ... it is only braided paper, after all.

Outstanding!This hat ticks all the boxes, shades the face from the sun while not making the head hot. I have always used Tilley hats great at protecting the face but even the light and air flow ones make the head sweat.So this hats really is excellent. The adjustable nature works well and it looks really good!

Excellent product. I have been looking for a suitable hat for some time and this has fitted the bill perfectly. During a recent spell of warm and sunny weather this hat has been an absolute godsend.

Very stylish and good sun protection.Had to buy a second one as my brother took a fancy to this one.
