Yamaha YCL-200AD Clarinet

I bought it for my granddaughter at a much lower price than most of the students in her class. The other students thought she had a brand new one, it did not look used at all. She is learning to play it in band and it has work out to be excellent. Her band teacher told her she had a very fine clarinet.

My used-like new clarinet came in the mail several days before the scheduled delivery, which is fantastic! I quickly play tested the whole range of the clarinet and all notes came out evenly and smoothly. I must note that I did not use the mouthpiece, ligature, or reed provided in the original packaging. I used a D’Addario Reserve X5 mouthpiece with a Vandoren V12 reed and a Rovner V-1R ligature, which might’ve (probably) had an impact on how the clarinet played.My only complaint is the synthetic pads of the clarinet made a “sticky” sound as I played through the chromatic. It could be that it’s super hot where I live and it affected the pads during shipping?

My item came about 3 days earlier then estimated. It was in pretty much brand new condition. Everything was wrapped and looked like it had never been touched. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Thank you!

Good Quality

This is NOT in good shape as described in item details. Keys stick, pads worn/missing. States some scratches. This thing was clearly not taken care of. Sent dirty!. Have to have a music repair clean, grease, basically overhaul before it can even be played. Was unable to assemble to test sound. Understand item is discounted but from description of quality, expected clarinet to be in better condition.

This order was given 2 stars because it is as follows,When reading the description it did state that the instrument was used - very good. Minor scratches stated on certain areas, which was true but did not mention that the instrument had a set of keys that kept the instrument from playing the way it should because they would bump as you tap a certain key. We had a music instructor examine the instrument and stated that the clarinet had been dropped and needed to be fixed. She mentioned that she has a person who works on her clarinet to adjust her instrument at a rate of $90/hour. I am very upset because the instrument was over $300.00 and now I have to take it in for another $90 per hour. I will send a complaint and work on getting my money back for an expensive busted instrument. Very upset about this. The only thing that was very good about this purchase was that the product was delivered a week sooner than the EDT.

This clarinet exceeded my expectations. It was in fantastic condition and the seller "upinthesehills" was honest in the description and pricing was great. I was nervous spending this much money online for a musical instrument for my daughters band but I'm glad I did. Pricing was much lower than what local music stores are offering for the same instrument in less desirable condition. I would highly recommend purchasing from this seller and if I ever need another musical instrument I will purchase from them again. This Yamaha model of clarinet is great for my beginning and Intermediate kids band sessions. The band teacher even complimented the quality of the instrument for the price we paid.

Very pleased with purchase! It was like brand new just like described. My 7th grader took it to school the next day and played it and is very happy with it. We will definitely be buying from this seller again!!! Packaging was great & shipping was fast as well.
