It is the customer service that increases this review to 4 stars. Very prompt and responsive and replaced the initial one where a light would not work. Even when I tried to put it away when it was not in official use, for the short times we would bring it out, at some point one of the kids under the age of 6 ripped out the easily accessible battery pack from its frail wires. Still fun and useful as a party hat and before the kid broke it, it was really popular and the elementary school's glow in the dark dance party.

Materials could be a little higher quality, but the light up aspect was AWESOME!! I got this for my brother-in-law's 50th birthday party and it was a total hit.

Don’t like this hat at all. The candles do not start up. It really does look too ridiculous. Will be returning it. Thinking it’s possible mine is defective and some extra support for the candles were left out. Cuter in picture.

Yes 5 stars for a birthday hat. Purchased this for the pure novelty of it and thought we might only use it once. However, this has become a staple for all family birthdays. I have had leave from my parents house to go back and get the hat so we can sing Happy Birthday. My kids love to remind me to get the hat so their sibling (or parent) has to wear the hat. Its definitely a silly/fun prop for all those birthday pictures!!The material is good quality and the batteries have lasted a couple years. The candles on top are kind floppy. Despite the candles not standing straight up I would recommend purchasing this hat.

Bought this for a friend for her birthday. It was cute and silly. The lights aren't quite the brightest but it was as expected.

Pretty cool hat. Love the blinking candle feature. I used this for a Halloween Character's 10th Birthday, so I distressed and bloodied up the hat. It held up well through all that and still looks pretty cool, scary, but cool. The material is kind of on the cheaper end, but it is still sturdy and lightweight.

I bought this for my daughters birthday and the light up part stopped working before the party even started. It's still super cute as a birthday hat.
