First woodwick I had was the Woodwick Vanilla Bean oblong candle. It almost looked like a mini fireplace, I loved it! Problem is - it’s too expensive to replace it.So I settled for the WoodWick Hourglass in Fireside - sure enough, I didn’t settle for less! If you’ve ever just melted and caramelized sugar in a sauce pan - that’s what this particular candle smells like! Just has a touch of sweet, woodsy scent along with it. Love how the lid of the candle doubles as a base to protect your surfaces!When you light it for the first time, the flame will appear offset but just give it a chance to do its job. The flame engulfs the wood wick and immediately starts crackling - just like a fireplace on a small scale! The flame is bright enough to light up a small room for a romantic or soothing environment. Very therapeutic.Like any candle, you have to maintain them. Make sure to carefully read the label on the bottom of the jar before you light it so you know what to do. Please don’t flip it while it’s lit and be careful when blowing it out as the wax on these candles are much less viscous than other candles. I don’t recommend using this candle for longer than 3 1/2 to 4 hours cause the wax liquefies quickly on the second or third use.This candle is totally worth every bit of the $18 I paid for it and I look forward to buying my next one from here! This candle is worth every penny. In a short amount of time, the smell fills the room, and the crackling sound is a great touch. You won't want other brands of candles after buying this one.

The soothing crackling of a fire, in a little candle, combined with a nice scent. We love the size and quality of this candle. It might cost a bit more than some other candles, but the actual candle burns cleaner and longer than others.

So, we had to rely on the reviews of customers who had purchased and used the candles that were available. Based on those reviews, we bought the WoodWick Wood Smoke Hourglass Candle, and we were delighted with the aroma. While it may not nail the precise odor of burning logs, it beats anything we sniffed in stores. The very pleasing aroma does a persuasive job of completing our synthetic fireplace experience. Not exactly what I was hoping for though.My review is a little plagiarism from someone else's post a year ago. But they said exactly how I was feeling about the scent. I almost gave it 3 stars because I thought the scent was so far off from a Fireside. What was I expecting? More of a scent/smell when you go outside your home and you know someone in your neighbourhood has a fire going in their fireplace. This one has a slight floral sweetness I can't quite describe. The crackling of the wick is pleasant, and the fragrance is strong without being overpowering.All in all, I like it. But if you want a candle that smells more like a campfire in the woods, this is not it.
