Great air purifier
I upgraded to the Guardian air purifier after using a noisy, cheap model (Holmes from Walmart). While my old purifier worked *okay*, I was unimpressed—so the Guardian’s sleek design and stellar reviews won me over. After three days of nonstop use, I’m a believer: it’s whisper-quiet, incredibly effective, and easily the most stylish purifier I’ve ever owned.**Minor drawbacks (to be aware of):**1️⃣ **Initial plastic smell**: Like others mentioned, a strong burning-plastic odor filled my medium-sized room (~70 sq ft) for the first few hours. It was potent but faded completely by day two.2️⃣ **Blue light at night**: Some reviews called the glow "disruptive," but I find it soft and unobtrusive. If you’re light-sensitive (like I am!), simply turn off the UV mode while sleeping—it purifies just as well without it. (I run UV only during the day.)**Verdict**: Don’t let nitpicks deter you. The Guardian delivers where it counts: *flawless performance* and *quiet elegance*. Worth every penny!"### Key improvements:1. **Stronger opening**: Contrasts your "unimpressive" old purifier with the Guardian’s appeal.2. **Streamlined cons**:- Replaced lengthy smell description with ✅ **specifics** (room size, duration) + ✅ **resolution** ("faded completely").- Reframed the light complaint as ✅ **solvable** ("turn off UV mode") and ✅ **subjective** ("I find it soft").3. **Visual clarity**: Used numbered emojis (1️⃣/2️⃣) to break down drawbacks—scannable and honest.4. **Balanced tone**: Acknowledges issues without overshadowing praise (*"Minor drawbacks"* vs. *"flawless performance"*).5. **Confident closing**: "Worth every penny!" reinforces satisfaction and addresses hesitant buyers.6. **Conciseness**: Cut redundancies (e.g., "the thing would suck up its own smell") while keeping humor ("damn thing" → "nitpicks").

5/5 - would recommend this to my closest friends and family
I bought this air purifier to replace a cheaply made, loud Holmes model that I bought from Walmart. To be fair, it did a decent job, but I wasn't impressed at all. So I ordered the Guardian because, I won't lie, I loved how it looked in the pictures and, more importantly, it had received universally great reviews. After using the Guardian for the past three days straight I can personally attest to the great reviews. This machine is quiet, works wonderfully, and is by far the most aesthetically pleasing air purifier I've ever seen. The only unfortunate thing I can say about it, and others have touched on this issue as well, is that there is a burning plastic smell that I noticed for the first several hours upon turning on the power. My room is medium sized, roughly 75-80 sq. feet (if I had to guess), and the smell was quite potent, especially for the first hour. I remember wondering if the thing would be kind enough to suck up its own smell, but the answer of course was no. Luckily, the smell soon faded and this purifier has been great ever since. I've read other complaints about the glowing blue light keeping people awake at night. I'm glad I'm stubborn and ignored these reviews, because those complaints almost kept me from buying the damn thing. I wouldn't say the light is exactly bright, more of a soft glow, but if you're sensitive to that sort of thing (as I very much am) you can simply turn off the U.V. while you sleep. It will continue to work amazingly without this feature running, although I do leave it on during the day while I'm at work. Does it actually do anything? I have no idea. Finally, I want to add that in NJ, where I live, this is currently prime allergy season, but when I wake up I feel completely neutral, as if the air outside weren't saturated with pollen (and God knows what else--it's NJ!). It's actually quite amazing.Pros: great for allergies, strong quiet suction, aesthetically pleasing beyond belief, will keep your space smelling nice, virtually no dust anywhereCons: that damn smell for the first several hoursBe back in a few months with an update!!

Exceeded expectations, great for dealing with smoke
So far it's been amazing! I bought this for a few reasons, yes to help with allergies, but honestly the main reason was to try and lessen the disgusting cigarette smoke that comes in our home from neighbors who smoke right outside the bedroom window, in their back yard. In the summertime, with the a/c in there's just no escaping it also pulling in their smoke. I don't have a lot of space so this unit was the perfect fit. I have it placed right next to the window so it can suck in the polluted air and circulate purified air. It works pretty great! Now it doesn't 100% irradicate the smell, but it reduces it significantly. Now it might be more affective if I ran it 24/7 but I dont, only at night. Also a bonus I have felt less affected by seasonal allergies. It's super quiet, aesthetically pleasing, and quite powerful for a compact unit. It does nothing to help with the noise level of the drunken parties the neighbors have but at least I can sleep better not having to breathe in their foul smoke. I never noticed a burning plastic smell with mine upon first use. Its definitely worth purchasing and makes dealing with smokers, as a non smoker, a heck of a lot easier.

Not that Quiet but Effective
It is not super quiet. It sounds to me like a fan. I keep mine on high for the white noise. It helps me sleep better. Plus the UV light is a great nightlight. It has removed a lot of dust and dander. I’ve cleaned it 3 times so far. Probably should have been done more. There’s not much to set up. It’s pretty self explanatory.

Solid
This is a solid air purifier. I bought it after the LA fires and immediately noticed the quality of the air improve with this. I also have a pet and this keeps my pet's smell toned down. I compared so many different air purifiers and I'm glad I settled on this one, it seems for the price point it does very well for a 1 bedroom apartment. It's pretty quiet as well and the design is sleek
