CarharttMen's Relaxed Fit Washed Duck Sherpa-Lined Utility Jacket

Will probably outlast me
I've been eyeballing Carhartt gear for some time, and I finally went ahead and got this Carhartt Utility (aka Bartlett) jacket. Really nice. I think they thought this out well, and nailed making it look stylish while still keeping it a genuine work coat.I just had to get the 'Moss' color but I couldn't find that color in a regular medium, so after reading many of the reviews, I took a chance and ordered the medium tall.I'm about 5'10"ish, around 160lbs and the medium tall actually fits my torso quite well. Not a crazy amount of extra material, and yet enough room to accommodate a low profile puffer vest when needed. The drop hem in back goes just a little past my butt, so as someone else mentioned here, the medium tall drapes the backside like a parka, which is going to be appreciated on cold, gusty days here in MI.The sleeves are where I really notice the difference between 'medium' and 'medium tall' - I have slender arms, and so the cuffs on the medium tall do extend over my hands a bit more than I'm used to, but again, I'd rather have them a bit longer than shorter.Other reviewers had remarked that the hand pockets were shallow, but I can comfortably fit my medium/large hands inside them, even wearing some medium thickness gloves.I really like the hood. As others mentioned it's not humongous, and sits well on the back of the coat. I don't have a very large noggin, and the hood covers my head nicely - I will actually use it!It's got the must-have zippered inner pocket, and I like that the velcroed pocket on the opposite side isn't too fiddly. Some folks also commented about the zipper not being robust enough. Yes, it could be bigger (and had a double pull, while we're wishing), but I don't think it's unreasonably small. For short jaunts I'll probably be relying on the snaps more. What makes it a true work coat? Triple stitching at all of the stress points, pleats at flex points on the shoulders and elbows, and reinforced cuffs.Certainly not an inexpensive piece of outerwear, but as Daddy always told me, 'you get what you pay for', and it will probably outlast me. :)

Built to Last: The Ultimate Work Jacket for Comfort, Durability, and Style
I've been wearing this jacket daily, and it has quickly become my favorite for both work and casual outings. As someone who works in construction, I needed a coat that could withstand the elements, keep me warm, and still look great—and this jacket checks every box.First, the durability is outstanding. It's held up beautifully to rugged daily use, showing virtually no signs of wear despite constant exposure to demanding environments and harsh weather. The material feels durable yet comfortable, allowing me to move easily during tasks.Warmth is another huge plus. Even on chilly mornings or colder evenings, this jacket keeps me perfectly comfortable without being bulky or cumbersome. The lining is just right—warm enough for more freezing temperatures but breathable for when the day warms up.The pockets are well-designed, practical, and easily accessible. I appreciate having enough space to store essentials securely. This jacket was thoughtfully designed with workers in mind. The fit is true to size, and I appreciate the attention to detail, such as the sturdy zippers and reinforced seams, which assure me this jacket will last a long time. It also cleans up quickly after a hard day's work, which is always a bonus. This jacket is a fantastic investment—practical, rugged, stylish, and versatile. I highly recommend it to anyone needing reliable workwear that is equally suitable for casual outings or outdoor activities.

Sleeve cuffs WAY too tight!
**UPDATE: I returned the L/Tall via UPS drop off, cost me $8 for them to box it up (lesson learned). I now have an XL/Tall and thankfully have slightly more room for my wrists in the cuff area, still very tight in the bottom part of sleeves but at least it will fit over my gloves! This would be my favorite jacket if the cuffs were not so tight/ if Carhartt used the same larger zipper from the older jackets (small zipper will be a pain to zip in the cold for sure, as other reviewers have rightly mentioned)/ Also the hand pockets are small... so I changed my rating from 3 stars to 4. If Carhartt fixed these 3 issues, then this would easily be my favorite jacket!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I'm 6'3" and 230 lbs.,was in great shape back in the day (Lifted weights/ Army lean an' mean), but now I look like a weasel that's preggers... So anyways, this new Large/ Tall sized jacket fits tighter in the chest area than my old Carhartt Large/ Regular (old Carhartt was a cheaper hooded style/ basic model). The sleeves are tighter compared to the old style (maybe because of Sherpa lining?), but the BIG reason I am leaving this review and returning this product for an XL/ Tall is because the sleeve cuffs are SOOO tight!! Even the outer sleeve around the stretchy cuff is crazy tight, so no way to pull my sweatshirt sleeves through the jacket cuffs and absolutely no way for me to tuck my long wool gloves inside the cuffs. This particular jacket was made in Indonesia. I know that the same model of clothing made in different countries will vary slightly (goes for all brands), but I am not sure if it is a quality control issue or if this new upgraded jacket is sized differently compared to the old base Carhartt model.Another con is that the zipper is smaller, as others have mentioned.Pros: this jacket feels warmer than my old basic model, arm movement will be better (in larger size, lol). I LOVE the Sherpa lining! Also, despite having a smaller zipper, I absolutely love the snap-over buttons! It is absolutely worth paying more for the upgraded buttons and lining!I hate to leave less than stellar review, but I will update it after I exchange this jacket for a larger one... If it is a quick worry-free exchange, then I will up the stars. If not, well... ITS COLD AND I NEED A JACKET NOW!!
