Q: Does this mount fit on a class II hitch receiver?

This 2" hitch will not fit into the Class II receiver. Class II Trailer Hitch Receivers: Designed for light-duty towing - Are rated up to 3,500 lbs GTW and 350 lbs TW - 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver hitch opening - Will work with Class I and Class II accessories, such as bike racks, cargo carriers. Class III Trailer Hitch Receivers: Designed for trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles - 2" x 2" receiver hitch opening - Rated up to 6,000 lbs GTW with 600 lbs TW - Allows for more gear to be carried or towed Works with all Class III accessories.

Q: Is this item easy to install ? (nissan altima)

Yes, as stated below, the Ball Mount with Ball just slides into the receiver. Installing the receiver is not really complicated but it takes time and you need someone or something to hold up one end as you bolt up the other. It's supposed to be a 1/2 hour job with two people, i think it took me 45-60 minutes by myself. I wasn't really keeping time though.

Q: Does anyone know if you can mount this upside down to gain height?

Yes. You get a 1/2" rise by flipping it vs a 2.5" drop not flipping it. Be warned:It's really tight. I used a Reese hitch ball wrench (pn 74342 for sale on Amazon), and some large channel lock pliers. You only need a vice if the receiver is not installed. otherwise you can put the mount into the receiver sideways, put the wrench on the nut and carefully jump on the wrench a few times. once the wrench moved, I was able to use the channel lock pliers to hold the ball in place while I continued loosening the nut with the wrench.

Solid piece of kit but......

I've left it a four stars as there are some scratches / abrasions to the paint. I'll live with it said i in my first review. I fitted it in January 24 and i'm dismayed at the corrosion on the ball along with the corrosion on the main support. It's only been outside for six weeks. I now question as to what quality control measures are taking during production and coating. Disappointed.
