Tarot of Mystical Moments Cards – December 8, 2020

I love this deck and the companion book! It is very relatable and easy to read the cards, even without the book. The author explains in detail the symbolism in her art, and adds her own perspective to the meanings of the cards. Which I appreciate in a good Tarot deck. The deck has mostly women in it, and gives extra cards (male) in the King and Emperor cards, so that you really make this deck your own.My only complaint is the cardstock. It is glossy, on the thick side, with gilded edges. The gilded edges are pretty, but makes the cardstock stiff and harder to shuffle. I dislike the glossy finish on the cards. A thinner, linen cardstock without gilded edges would have been better. Some people prefer thick cardstock, but I don’t think it’s a good choice for shuffling. Regardless, it’s a great deck to own and it won’t break the bank like some Tarot decks!

The art on this deck blows me away. The collage imagery uses symbolism in a way that feels intuitive to me. When I look at a card and think about it’s meaning, I’m frequently thinking to myself, “oh that makes sense!” It’s slightly strange and beautiful at the same time. I love the female king alternative cards. In fact, most of the court cards are stunning.The cardstock is good, although the card size is just a bit big. I can comfortably shuffle it but just barely. The silver guilding is lovely, and I love how the gloss surface on the cards makes the colors pop.The box is sturdy, and my favorite kind of compact box. The book is a simple paperback with no illustrations, but it is stitch bound rather than glue bound, so it will last.

If I could give this deck 10 stars, I would. My favorite Tarot deck that I own, and I own more than I want to admit! 🤣. Not only is the artwork creative and evocative, but Catrin's interpretations are so encouraging, uplifting, and inspiring. I connect so deeply to this deck and the imagery - I often scan the images to use for dream boards and activation boards. Can't say enough how much I love this deck. Thank you, Ms Welz-Stein, for creating it!!!

So many people have created decks as tarot substitutes, and muddle the whole reason for the original symbolism and providing meaning through the art and design. Besides being a most amazing artist, this deck is one of the few 'recent' decks that has kept the integrity of tarot reading and its intuitive teaching... My grand daughter and I have 'tested'/compared readings b/w this deck and my well-worn Rider-Waite deck. Bravo.

Of my tarot card collection, this deck of cards is probably the most beautiful. The pictures are gorgeous, colors vibrant. The cards are nice and glossy, but pretty stiff until you break them in a bit. You can see the back of the cards and the silver gilded edges in the picture above. They come with a guidebook, and I truly appreciate this version of the classic tarot card meanings.

I am a professional tarot reader and so I have used this deck a lot since buying it. The cards are an excellent card stock quality. After dozens of uses already, there is little to no sign of wear. They are very very glossy, and so they do slip around a bit during shuffling, but I don't find this an issue.The images are stunning. Of all my decks, I think I get the most comments of, "Oh these images are beautiful".It is a very feminine heavy imagery, so I don't use it with my male clients as often. It's interesting that it has a male and female King for each and a male and female Emperor.I would not say this is a total beginner deck, since it can be light on symbolism keys. But it's great for intermediate readers and anyone who just likes beautiful decks.

This is my second deck of tarot cards and this deck is beautifully done. It’s a kinder easier to use deck with such amazing artwork.I highly recommend it to anyone, whether new to cards or experienced.

This deck is pretty good. I like the unusual art. I was surprised at how well the art fit the meaning of the cards, sometimes in surprising ways, like the Hanged Man having a zipper, the 5 of Wands showing a strategic game of chess, Nine of Wands shown a person covered in staring eyes and the 4 of cups showing a person oblivious to being sheltered from rain. I like that the images are mostly borderless with just the title strip at the bottom. I'd love if they were completely borderless but they're nice as is. I also liked the optional extra cards for Emperor and the kings. Extra cards give a feeling of customization to the deck that I appreciate.Thing I didn't care for as much were, the gloss finish (it was sticky and obscured the interesting art with glare during use), the gilding (cards came welded together, it's thick and chunky and tears up my skin, it creates a raised edge on cards), the card stock is thin and already is showing a sustained bend after just a few shuffles (not at all like other u.s. games decks I have which is disappointing) and the size is large and hard for me to manage. The cards chuck together in sections when overhand shuffling which is cumbersome. I think it's the gilding and I hope it wears down with usuage.
