The capsules do not use the words “Enteric Coated”. They do however take 45 minutes to dissolve according to the description. This means that the capsules won’t dissolve until it reaches the small intestine. Enteric coating doesn’t dissolve in acid, so the capsules last through the stomach and make it to the small intestine where the environment is more alkaline than the stomach. Sometimes the contents of the capsules need to make it through the stomach undigested because they do their work in the intestine. So a delayed release capsule is what is needed. Enteric coating would accomplish a delayed release which is ideal for this. Although the package description doesn’t user the words “enteric coated”, it does seem that this product would accomplish the goal of releasing contents into the intestine, undigested. My son says that they seem to work well for getting essential oils past his stomach to the small intestine where he wants them. I bought these for him.

Q: Do these dissolve in the stomach or the small intestine?

My guess is the small intestines, but I don't know for sure. I bought them because my daily prescription medicine causes gastritis and bad stomach pain. So I put the pills into these empty capsules and immediately I had no more pain. I have not noticed any change in the efficacy of the medicine either so I think it was a good solution for me.

Q: How long does it take for these to dissolve and you to get the effect of what is inside? I'm guessing that you would get the full effect all at once.

I've actually noticed that it comes on much slower using the capsules. Also, eating with them will slow the release even more but will also cause a loss of a small amount of the herbs or medicine and therefore a small increase in the amount of material per capsule can offset this.

Maybe

I'm not sure why. Is it because of bad packaging, or is it bad manufacturing but the caps are not really round. It's as if they were under something heavy or maybe the material is not good. When you put the two ends together to close the capsules, you can clearly sense that it is not a perfect sphere. So, I wonder if it can really be acid resistant or not.
