Must have! It helped me remove wallpaper, from a 3 bed house, which had up to 4 layers of wallpaper and one or two coats of paint on, some layers probably dating back to the 1970s or earlier this included paper on the ceilings.I found using the corner of the blade to start the peel followed by the blade being flat/flush to the wall (screw side up) in a downward motion worked best for most of the house, but some areas needed the blade to be at different angles to get the best results.With the technique I used, the paper did start to build under the corner I started the peel with. This caused the corner to slightly ‘bend’ the metal holding the blade in place but I saw it in time and was able to remove the build up of paper.It comes with extra blade I only used 3 in total, which for me was, brilliant considering the amount of wallpaper that got removed.P.s. white vinegar works (but does stink, a lot)

Some of the wallpaper scrapers I bought in the past are annoying because the blades keep coming out you can't tighten them up enough to keep the blade in, however this scraper has got a better tightening system and the blade stays in place

Good product but chipped after 4 long days of using it. Worked great with only half but an extender would make better

So far this scraper is great. A very sharp blade, so be careful! Some other reviews complain there are no spare blades - there are, they are in the handle. I expect they did not remove the plastic plug at the end of the handle covering the hidey hole.

This is a great product that will definitely remove paper and even paint from plastered walls but the major flaw is the damage it will cause to the plasterwork. The item has a tendency to dig into the plaster and leaves many defects shaped like the blade. I chose to fill the hundreds of defects this caused but after painting, some of them became visible when the light direction changed. So I am going to have to fill/sand/paint again. Getting the walls skimmed would avoid this but there is the expense. We needed to get a thick layer of paint off the plaster (fairly easy with a steamer) so they did the job that a blunt paper scraper wouldn’t do. Just be aware there is some repair work to do afterwards with these.

Easy to use and made my life easier scrapping away a whole house of wallpaper.

My husband is a painter and decorator and this comes in you very useful for his job when he’s stripping off wallpaper.

It strips paint and single layer plastic wallpaper like butter, but not good for popcorn or paper/chipwood base wallpapers. Easy to use and sturdy tool. However, using it needs practice.
