Difficult to read
Difficulty to read when held in a brass thermometer tube. The markings are not strong enough.The thermometer has to be adjusted so that the me3rcury can be seen behind the scale.

A good thermometer.
It's a very handy size and is easy to read. It gives the same readings as my old one so I'm happy with it. The neat protective case it arrived in is really good. Buy one of these, you will be pleased with it.

Great piece of kit!
Great quality thermometer, even has a handy eye on top of it so you don't loose it in something hot or a deep vat of cider in my case. highly recommended

Mediocre accuracy
The thermometer appears to be constructed reasonably well, but it may have been jostled in transport a bit too much and the temperature indicating fluid has broken up, meaning it is now not reporting temperature accurately. Boiling water is apparently 94 C (should be 100 C) and ice water is -2C (should be 0 C). This should be just about sufficient for my purposes, but I would not buy this again.

Shattered: use with caution.
This thermometer shattered on only the second use. Luckily, it shattered after being removed from the brew - otherwise the whole lot would have gone to waste. I will be requesting a refund, as it shattered when removed from the heat and cooling. I would hope that I’ve just had a bad experience, and not that the product is entirely unfit for purpose. Be cautious.
