Found him in his room a few days later still designing & building with this kit in his room. I wish I could confirm everything that was in it. I can confirm he thinks it "was the best Christmas Present EVER!!!!" Topping the 20 Nerf guns a neighbor gave me for $10 bucks & the 10k NERF darts to go with it a couple years ago.Apparently this was a great buy & has "everything" he needs to build multiple projects. His big one is a tank that has fully automated parts. Turret, treads (many came from another official LEGO set & these added to the original tracks great), ramps, winch, etc...Wish I could give more info & planned to, though this set got mixed in with all the other brick sets he has acquired to make unit que things before I could get to himSeriously a great purchase for the price.

I purchased this for my 11 yo son for Christmas. I was worried because another review said unless you have a plan to build something they weren't very useful. My son has loved them! He has built cars, fans, all sorts of stuff with them. I look at the box of pieces and I can't imagine how to build anything with them, but his imagination is going wild with then. He had put together a few of the tecnic kits before and specifically asked for that type of lego, but not as a kit (for like a car). This package deal worked perfectly.

I use plastic blocks to play with, not to collect. These are a great alternative to a major brand name.

Our son is technically just at the end stages of being a toddler, but is very smart and loves building with Legos. He watches "Brick Science" on YouTube with us and couldn't WAIT to start building with gears and motors too!He's already built several things: headlights for a Lego Car, a propeller for a plane, and several ways to shoot out Lego "lazer blasts".However, reasons it's not a full 5 stars:1. There's only ONE setting on speed; very fast. I've seen others using a computer program/app to control the speeds, but there was no instructions with this set so we don't even know how to begin.2. There is a controller but no instructions on how to use/connect it.3. The red goop INSIDE the moters should come WITH the pack. So if the tiny gears INSIDE the moters aren't turning then we can open it up and fix it (like a clock). Or, at least give some information about what kind of lubricant the red goop is so we can put more in.
