As somebody with a visual impairment, the fact that this device has no screen doesn’t bother me. Nor does the price. I realize that some people may balk at the $79 per year asking price for the pro plan. As somebody who has historically had to rely on specialist devices for the blind that cost easily $500, even with that $79 per year plan, this thing is a bargain.While I am giving it five stars, there is something I should make note of. I have enough usable vision where I don’t necessarily need to use speech all the time. Thus, for my needs, the device app is more than adequate. However, for those that do use speech all the time, and might be considering this, I should warn you that the apps accessibility with the VoiceOver screen reader on the iPhone is passable, but you’ll need to sit down and learn it because not everything is labeled properly. Nor are you able to navigate your summary by headings. The mind map is an inaccessible image with no alt text. These are suggestions that I’ve passed along to the development team and since it’s on the software side, these things could be easily implemented overtime, so let’s hope that they get implemented.For those of you who are wondering if it is worth the cost? My personal belief is that it is because this way you will save wear and tear on your phone’s battery, you won’t have to worry about constantly monitoring your screen to make sure the phone doesn’t go to sleep, plus the ChatGPT transcription features are superior to what Apple Intelligence does, especially when it comes to the summary.The device itself is really awesome. It’s about the size of two credit cards and at the very top is a concave round button to the left of which is a vertically oriented two position switch. That two position switch is what will swap between regular note dictation mode and phone call dictation mode The button is utilized to start and stop recordings. Beyond that, everything else is done in the app. On the back, and you might need to find it, at the bottom, you will find an oval with four round circles in it. This is your charging port. To make things easier to find I would highly recommend putting it in the included leather case. Another really neat feature about the case is the fact that it can magnetically clip to the back of your phone using MagSafe.The battery in this thing is incredible and so far the summarization through chat, GPT has been fantastic. I plan to use this at a conference in a couple of months and I’ve already used it at a webinar for my work. I really hope the development continues on this because this is very promising. Keep up the good work. :-)

A few days in and quite possibly the best productivity tool that I have purchased. My use case is to document meeting notes and dive in further by pulling out industry standard acronyms and phrases.My prompt then provides an additional summary to explain those terms in context to the meeting that was had. So far it has been spot on. I love the fact that there are pre defined prompts and you have the ability to create and store custom prompts as well. You can also match-up files and ask to compare and contrast discussions to help identify where there could be cross dependencies or a need to clarify if you find differences. There is also a web interface that I find even easier to use. You can upload recordings that were not made with the device and use the same prompts on those files.This is a game changer if you have multiple work streams to coordinate!

Great product for capturing in person and phone conversations to provide AI summary notes with a dedicated device. You get 6hrs/mo of transcription/AI service. You are locked into their service and can't even get the audio files until you trigger analysiss (then you can download audio, transcritpion, or AI summary in your choice of analysis) I want less propriatary options, but the product is good at what it is meant for.For just meeting transcription OneNote has a feature built in. But there's really something to just hitting a button on a device in your pocket and not figeting around with your phone or PC (using for other purposes). Dedicated hardware has it's place. Great product!

This product combines well-designed hardware, intuitive software, and impressive functionality—but in practice, it performs more awkwardly and less effectively than my iPhone paired with ChatGPT. On top of that, it adds the hassle of managing an extra device to pair, charge, and keep track of. While I love the idea behind it, I didn’t love the execution.The hardware is thoughtfully designed—lightweight, attractive, and comfortable to use. Pairing it with the app is simple, and the app’s interface is user-friendly. However, it’s not as seamless as recording directly on a smartphone. Files need to be downloaded, which adds unnecessary steps and takes up time—this is where the experience starts to feel cumbersome.I bought this device to record meetings, planning to either place it in my shirt pocket or on the table. Its compact size and shape seemed perfect for the job. Unfortunately, in real-world use, particularly at events or trade shows with significant background noise, the device struggled. It failed to capture clear audio in those environments, and the software often couldn’t reliably differentiate or label speakers—two features that were essential for my needs. Ultimately, this led me to return the device.Interestingly, the PLAUD software performed better when paired with my phone’s built-in microphone, which captured audio more effectively than the device itself. Even then, ChatGPT’s Whisper outperformed PLAUD in recognizing speakers and processing audio.The bigger issue is the competition this device faces. With AI tools like ChatGPT paired with smartphones, you can already achieve similar (if not better) results, often with more convenience and flexibility. Smartphones and AI solutions can also evolve quickly with updates, whereas dedicated devices are slower to adapt, which puts them at a disadvantage.I really admire companies that push boundaries with innovative AI products, and this device shows potential. However, AI is advancing so quickly that it’s difficult for smaller, specialized devices like this to stay competitive. For now, I haven’t found a product in this category that truly stands out.
