May need a couple coats
The stain is great, and the color is excellent for old rifles. Sand, clean, and have at it. Some of the wood had dark and light sections that took the stain differently- as wood does. After multiple light coats, they were still shades different, but closer in color. Would use again.

Ir is a very good stain.
It is a very good wood stain. It covers the entire surface very well. I recommend using it as is, not mixing it with water. It turns out a walnut color.

Easy Water-Based Stain
This stain is primarily for gun wood. After reading the reviews, I decided to try it to stain dark walnut door trim that I had stripped of acrylic paint. The stain was dulled, and removed in some places. This stain covered the lighter places, and restored the color nicely. After it was dry, I used a wax over it. It looks good.Nice water based stain for smaller projects.

Gray and chunky
Gray with chunks in it. Simple as that. Definitely not walnut colored at all. It is gray and mine even had chunks in it. Waste of money and time.

To read for my gunstock
My husband surprised me with a redo on my gunstock. My gunstock was maple and this particular color was too red. He ended up not using it and just used true oil to keep it real natural. It would’ve been a fine color on a different gun than a different wood. They make a good product.

Quality is questionable
I love the way the stain turned out! Only thing is I wouldn’t mix with water if you want a darker stain.
